Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Also keep in mind that for many people coming in from freshwater - it would seem that one fish is great, but two fish are even better for breeding. In saltwater it tends not to be the case since it is difficult to sex the fish and you could end up with two of the same gender and all out war in...
I could be wrong by Paul doesn't have a 150. He was referring to the tank the tangs came from. What was that - samsky's tank - the circular 150? Or was it a rimless 150? I remembered he had a problem with carpet surfers...:p or maybe it wasn't him.
+1 to chillys' comment on the tang. Bummer.
That video of the cleaner shrimp is awesome. I've seen them jump on tangs and such - but never a smaller fish like an anthia like that.
Ugh anthony that's tough - sorry to hear the loss.
I think your choices are limited to:
Attempt to remove the remaining fish, you want to get the tank empty (fallow) and wait 6~8 weeks.
OR
Heavily feed (some swear by garlic), keep changing water and hope that the fish will eventually be...
Are you supposed to put large pools of water like that right next to the school like that? It seems like a risk to me - but I know zero civil engineering....hahaha.
Anyways - it sounds great. Will you be adding fish to the mix? Or will this be a giant mosquito breeding factory? Sorry - i am...
If skimmers could talk, I bet this one is saying....MY GOODNESS this tank NEEDS ME!!!!!!
Your old skimmers quote would probably be: "i wasn't paid enough to do work on this thing". LOL!!!
Those are some amazing pics! You could send them to Dr. Ron Shimek if you want (on your own dime) and if he has time he could make a 100% accurate assessment. He has his own forum on marine depot.
i was under the impression pyrams are parasitic and attack only snails or clams. not both. I...
you should just make a sieve or you could purchase one from an online retailer like brineshrimp direct. What are you going to do in the summer though as the temps spike up - they are a cold water species...?
i tried this but it is only a temporary save. In your case - (like mine) another fish has become preoccupied with the mirror and the culprit fish is free to continue to chase the others.
you may need multiple mirrors.
