    DSA 135....

Well, someone correct me if i'm wrong here, but i'm guessing this config should be good both for corals and pleasing to my wife's eye as she doesn't like the tank to be drowned out in blue. ATI bulbs Aquablue special Blue + Blue + Purple + Coral + Blue + Blue + Aquablue Special Arrangement...

    DSA 135....

I've only ever used led's, so would be new to me, but i like the idea of trying it out, just not sure if i'll like the looks as much as if i went ai leds. I'd also have to figure out a bulb combo, i was thinking something along the lines of 4 blue plus, 1 purple plus, two aquablue specials and...

    DSA 135....

Well, i can't seem to make up my mind now, debating on an 8 bulb ati fixture or 4 hydra 26 hd's. After searching around, the 4 26's will give me better overall coverage than two 52's. But also depending on how i set up the rock work, two 52's may work out just fine. I've got a month or two to...

    New tank choice

I would stay away from DSA right now, i couldn't even get my plumbing kit from them for my 135. They are going through a restructuring, I asked if i would be able to get the kit down the road, the supplier said he had no idea.

    DSA 135....

Appreciate the suggestions, the drywall will be somewhat off the ground as the floor isn't perfectly level, so it will vary probably between 1/4 inch and 3/4 inch, hadn't thought of putting anything between the wall and concrete, i was going to leave a half inch gap there. I have plenty of tools...

    DSA 135....

Well, day two and three are down, and the floor is in. I now also have an oscillator tool, worked nicely with a scraper attachment to pull up the floor, I got tire of hammering my thumb. After day 2 After day 3 Now i have to get drywall, i really don't like doing drywall.

    DSA 135....

I'm also debating at this point on buying a sump/fuge or making my own, I'm feeling like at this point I'm just going to buy one, probably a trigger systems.

    DSA 135....

Day two of the fish/office/laundry room redo. Yanked up some floor, did it the manly way, with a hammer and chisel, never mind they make an electric tool for this or that i didn't think about it while at home depot. Managed to clear an area and lay the floor down. Next day i get i'll move...

    DSA 135....

I'm debating on using filter socks at this point, but I'll have the option on the sump. Tomorrow I get to scrape up the old floor and start putting in the new one, as well as painting the wall, measuring and marking what I'm going to cut out.

    DSA 135....

Well, i made some progress today, since the tank will be in the laundry room i had to clear it out. Next step is cutting a hole in the wall and building a stand. Also i am putting a new floor in, that black and white stuff isn't my favorite, and you'll notice in the after picture it was put...

    DSA 135....

Well, went to order the plumbing kit and they are out of stock and with the restructuring of DSA, they aren't sure it will ever be back in stock, so I guess I'll be building my own overflow. I guess the upside is it will be cheaper, I can just use the piping and supplies from Home Depot correct...

    Generator question

It will handle your tank, my amp draw on mine at peak per the apex is 3.4 amps, so it's only using roughly 408 watts at peak. If you're curious about what you're tank draw is, take the peak amps if you have an apex and multiply it by 120 (regular house voltage) to find your watt usage, same can...

    RO/DI Fiasco

I think the moral of my story is if you flush the toilet and hear the shower gurgling, open the tank and get rid of the clog before it feeds back too far.

    RO/DI Fiasco

Don't feel too safe with the trap, my septic clogged and apparently everyone had to drop a few off that morning, well I went into the laundry room and there were turds all over the floor. I call my wife and said your sh%% is on the floor, she said if I left something on the floor just pick it...

After that part is out of the way the next step is finding people willing to help move the tank, lol.

    DSA 135....

So if i'm looking at it right, 2x4's around the bottom, two more on the outsides as legs, one on the side of the legs i'm guessing for sway support, one 2x4 cross beam, and then 2x6's on the top? I'll have to modify it a bit as i plan on using some of the wood in the wall so that i can get the...

    Flooring/carpeting - anyone involved?

If you were closer i'd be able to give you a hand, but laminate is easy enough, can just go with what they call a floating floor. No nailing required, remove any baseboards, lay a row down, cut the last one to fit, and start the next row with the cut piece to stagger the ends so they don't match...

    DSA 135....

I'll just be running the plumbing kit they sell with it, as long as it's decently quite, noise shouldn't be an issue as it will be an in wall. My next part of the build is cleaning out the "fish room" which is pretty much the laundry room, cutting a hole in the wall and building a stand, none of...

    Tim's 180 semi-in-wall

Looking good so far. My stand is the next thing on my list, along with cutting a hole in the wall. Wish i could have went bigger as well, but you still got me beat by 45 gallons.
