Hello All,
I have some aiptasia popping up in my tank and I want to handle it before it spreads. Please let me know if you have any of these guys that you would like to sell or loan. I would also be interested if anyone knows where I can buy them locally?
Thanks!
Exactly, they are john guest connections and they disconnect easily. Also, a sediment filter actually gets better as it gets dirty because now it catches smaller particles. The carbon block is the most important because it removes the chlorine and that it what damages the ro membrane, which is...
If you do decide to test for chlorine (test kits are very cheap at pool stores) you need to measure it after the carbon block, not after the RO/DI phase.
To add some further detail my tds is 150, I use about ten gallon a week, and my ro membrane is over 4 years old and still has a 97% rejection rate. I always use a .5 micron carbon and a .5 micron sediment. The lower the micron the better.
If you have a pressure gauge.... a pressure drop would be a sign that the sediment filter is going bad, I replace mine when i see a 15% drop in pressure. If you test for chlorine and the concentration is higher than .1 ppm than your carbon block is bad. I get over a year from both however I only...
It also depends on what is wrong with the zoa. Zoa pox can also cause them to not open, and the only way to save them from that is Furan II medication dips.
I bent roughly an inch under the weight of the light (15lb). I am not worried about its strength, but might change it out for stronger tubing eventually.
If you add it after the cycle to might have a small ammonia spike. In our aquarium the ammonia is broken down into nitrite then nitrate by the bacteria in the tank. I would add it now so when you add your fish later you do not have to worry about an ammonia spike.
In my option the shrimp is the best option, people that provided that advice did not steer you wrong at all. However, talking down to people that have been helping is not a good way to get advice in the future. Adding more rock will not interrupt your cycle, but it will add more ammonia from die...
Hey Guys,
I just spent 2 hours moving power heads and I am struggle getting enough flow to the SPS without torturing the LPS. My question is for those with a true mixed reef how much SPS polyp movement do you have?? If you do not have heavy SPS flow, are the SPS pieces still healthy...
Have ran double and single ended halide, t5, and now LED. I have been using a reefbreeders light for over month now. I love the LED for the control, no heat and less power however I feel the color is lacking. T5 being my personal favorite for color, and LED for function and power savings.
