To anyone who might be interested, my first impressions. I didn't have much time the day i got it to mess with it, so i put them in and put them on random chaotic flow during the day and another random but less chaotic flow at night. I was second guessing myself at first on if they were worth...
I have an RW-8 I no longer need as I now have the apex wav setup. Works great, quiet, looks just about brand new. $50
Also have two phosban 150 reactors, pulled them from my system two days ago, used one for carbon and one for gfo. $25 each.
located in winslow township nj.
Sorry, may have asked the question wrong, I was assuming it was on auto, but usually on the fusion interface the pump will show on or off. Mine are set to auto as well, when they come on, the apex will show it's running and say on, same when it's off. I'm curious if your's was on auto, does it...
well, my jebao controller went out, so instead of getting a replacement, I was going to get this system on my next tank, now it's going to come a bit early. Hopefully they work out nicely, anyone else using them yet? And on what size tank and %?
In my tank it would be my mandarin, just one of my favorite fish. My son's tank has a dog face puffer though and that thing is full of personality. Peeked in on it one night and it was just perched on a rock sleeping, reminded me of my derpy dog. Look up derp on google if you're unsure what that...
when the doser failed, did apex show it in the on position? or did the apex show it as off and it was still dosing? Curious, if it showed it as on still there might possibly be a way to set an alarm for this. If it showed it as off though i don't think it would help.
I believe anything with a very low voltage would need to be on the #4 or #8 outlets as they are manual and the voltage doesn't matter. The other circuits for whatever reason, i never looked into or know why, at a low voltage, i forget the number, it could cause it to be in a constant on position...
Looks good there mark, I'll probably vary it each batch, there is some herbivore food mixed in with mine as well, just can't remember what it was called. I like the black worm idea, would love to do it but it would go over well with my wife.
Blended up some squid, bay scallops, shrimp, krill, silversides, salmon, and clams, then mixed in mysis, brine, and bloodworms, came out pretty good, tank seems to like it. Came out to 3 flat gallon size freezer bags, can't complain. Next time i might leave it in the processor longer. squid...
I've only done what i can to raise ph naturally, adding an outside airline. Not chasing any numbers, but i was getting little to no growth with my ph between 7.5-7.6. adding the outside airline helped tremendously, as my ph now usually sits between 7.8-8. i'm fine with that, i've more than...
Personally i went with a regular refractometer, just get 35ppt calibration fluid and use it each time before you use the refractometer, i think the one i have costs me 30 bucks. My only issue with the milwaukee is that may not be one, is the margin of error that can be had with it. I'm not sure...
just take the salinity down slowly, remove a few gallons and let your top take over, and lower it over the course of a few days, it won't kill off the bacteria, it will stunt them a bit if anything, much like copper does, i added seachem bacteria when i did copper treatments and never had an...
I think the bacteria would be fine, I've seen other people do hypo with a bio filter with success. What I wound up doing is putting the fish in q/t, treating them with copper for I think 2 months, I used cupramine. I'd have to look back a bit, as I left the copper in long enough for the life...
That might be the case, but that's not GHA in my picture, thats bryposis, i was praying it was GHA when i started to finally get back to my normal maintenance.
Honestly, I have no idea, my rocks didn't start growing any coralline algae for a year. I have no idea why, i know my salinity was at 1.022 for that year, but i don't see how that would affect it, since it was growing on the wall. I just don't have an answer for that question, lol.
