We've been using the Kent Float Valve in our RO/DI barrel for years now with no problems at all (knock on wood!). As far as a top-off mechanism for the sump, we swear by THESE. We have a few of them in different systems and they work great. I would definitely recommend them.
Mike, there are pics and drawings of our system in THIS thread. The drawing is kind of busy now but you should be able to get the idea of it from some of the earlier pics. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have about it.
To further on what Matt said, we always have our orders held at the Fed Ex location in Lakewood. The advantage there is that we can pick it up at 8:30am before it gets loaded on a truck. This way our livestock is already acclimated and in the tank well before the Fed Ex truck would ever get to...
Hi Dom,
I'm not sure what went wrong with the aqualifter. I seem to experience that quite a bit with them, though. They seem to only have a 1 to 1.5 year useful life. I use them for a couple of different things in my systems. Most notable is the one attached to my overflow box on the 65g tank...
The aqualifter on our nitrate reactor quit for few days (weeks?) and we didn't realize it. The media mix has been sitting there with no water running through it the whole time. My question is do I need to replace all of the media in it or would I be OK to just flush something like 20g of water...
I don't have anything scientific; all I have is my observations. The first this is that the ESV seems to go into solution a lot better. When we use it, and it runs low, it all gets used up. With the Mrs. Wages, it seems to get to a point where there is a portion on the bottom that just doesn't...
I have 2.5 jars if anyone wants it. We tried it in our kalk reactor and didn't like the results at all. It's free to a good home. I may keep the partial for use in nuking aptasia, though, because it's so much fun to do ;D
Hi Tom,
Welcome to NJRC. I can't answer your questions but know there are quite a few people here who can. I just wanted to say hi and let you know we're glad you found us and stepped out from lurking! Your plan to ease your way through this is a good one. Research is the key to success in this...
I don't know what it is but I've never had any luck with them. I must have tried 5 or 6 times, at least, to keep one of them and they've always died within a few days. I have no clue why. I bought them all from different sources and kept them in different systems and had the same result every...
