We've been using the Kent Float Valve in our RO/DI barrel for years now with no problems at all (knock on wood!). As far as a top-off mechanism for the sump, we swear by THESE. We have a few of them in different systems and they work great. I would definitely recommend them.

The aqualifter on our nitrate reactor quit for few days (weeks?) and we didn't realize it. The media mix has been sitting there with no water running through it the whole time. My question is do I need to replace all of the media in it or would I be OK to just flush something like 20g of water...

Greg, we use ESV Kalk powder.

I have 2.5 jars if anyone wants it. We tried it in our kalk reactor and didn't like the results at all. It's free to a good home. I may keep the partial for use in nuking aptasia, though, because it's so much fun to do ;D
