Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
We use that printed mylar (or vinyl?) film you get from the LFS. It's the stuff that's on a roll and can be cut to length. Typically they have pics of FW plants or something. The one we picked was blue on one side and black on the other. We just taped it to the back of the tank with the black...
It sounds to me like you have two fish that are in the process of becoming a mated pair. The aggressive female is most likely transitioning into a male. Once she completely changes it is possible that he will more readily accept others. Until then, I'd just leave things the way they are.
Just a...
IMO, you're not going to get nearly the sensitvity out of a ball valve as would out of a gate valve. When it comes to tuning in skimmers, precision is important. The ball valve most likely won't allow you to make the fine adjustments necessary.
JMO, though.
I like everything from Gary Hoey - Ho Ho Hoey Volumes 1 through 3. Here is some stuff I could find online. It's not the best sound quality but it gives you the idea. If you like it, I'd recommend getting some of his CD's. They definitely liven things up when put in a mix of random Christmas...
Uhhh . . . no then, I don't think YOU should risk mixing them. If you'll just let me know where that place is I'll let them know you're gonna have to pass ;D
Do you know of a place that has those Pinkfaces in stock? That's what we were looking for initially but gave up because we couldn't find them anywhere. I'd still love to pick one up if I could find it.
Hi Martin, welcome to NJRC. We're glad you found us. You should post up some pics of your system if you get a chance. Also, let us know if you're ever back in NJ. You never know, we may be having a meeting or other social event that you can join in on.
That looks pretty slick Mike. Good luck with it. I'd love to be able to do something like that with my system as well. I had looked into actuated ball valves but MAN are they expensive! Keep us posted if you decide to go with it.
That really sux. Sorry to hear that, Richie. Hopefully there's some truth to the saying "what goes around, comes around" and they get what's coming to them.
Any chance of insurance (either the malls or yours) covering any of the losses?
We have the MR3 and it does basically the same thing after we clean it. It seems like it has something to do with building up the right backup pressure or something. Anyway, what we do is clean everything the same way you do and then when we turn it back on we block the air flow until the...
Happy Thanksgiving Bill.
We're using one of the Two Little Fish reactors. It sounds like it may be small for our system but seems to do a good enough job. Our phosphates always seem to be pretty low, as long as we stay on top of media changes.
Mike, did you order that directly from MRC? If so, was there any issue with ordering from them? I'm just wondering if they recovered as a company after that horrible incident.
Hi Mike, welcome to NJRC. We're really glad you found us. It sounds like you've got quite a lot going on in your life! Good luck with the new tank and please feel free to ask any questions. There a lot of knowledgeable people here who are always willing to help out. And please post some pics too!
