Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Thanks for the heads-up, Robert. I was frantically trying to rearrange my schedule for tomorrow night so that I could be there. Good luck with move and take plenty of pictures!
There's the rub . . . catching and raising fry is not that easy. The way we look at it, every spawing event is a nice boost of live food for the tank. We were going to try to remove the fry from the tank and raise them but it never panned out. Just as we got prepared, they relocated to their...
Our pair of maroon clowns spawn continuously. When one clutch hatches, a new one follows right behind it. I would say the pattern is that new eggs are laid every 3 to 4 weeks. It used to be easier to gauge because they laid their eggs out in a visible area. They have since moved to behind a rock...
That really looks great. You did a nice job of cleaning it up and putting together a very neat looking system. I too am looking forward to following your progress. Keep the pics coming!
Hi Ryan, welcome to NJRC and this wildly addictive hobby! We're glad you found us (thanks Jeff for pointing him in our direction!). I'm sure you'll find your experience here friendly & informative. I'm looking forward to seeing those pics.
I can't answer for these specifically but I do see a hundred different drums roll through my company every day. None of the ones I've seen have bung holes any bigger than a ~2.5" diameter.
These could be different. I'd be interested in the answer, too.
I just want to make sure everyone realizes these drums have SEALED TOPS with two small screw-in plugs in them. There is no taking the top off. They may be good for transporting water but I don't think they'll be so good for mixing salt, as I don't think you'd be able to get a mixing pump into it.
Yep. The only thing is that you need to have the picture that you will be using already loaded onto a hosting site (you may even be able to use our gallery but I'm not sure). Click on the "I have my own picture" radio button and then paste the url of the pic into the box. The pic needs to be...
1. Water changes, to some degree, are inevitable. Get the right equipment to move water efficiently. Had I known how much time and mess a Mag7 and a length of hose would have saved me I would have bought them the day I picked up my tank.
2. Fish die. It sux but it happens. Sometimes it's your...
I agree. Great site Mike. I like that you say "this is a test site until I come up with something better". That's pretty funny because the test site is awesome the way it is!
Your tank looks great too.
Hi Jim. Welcome to NJRC's forums. We're glad you were pointed in our direction. I think you'll find plenty of reefers (of the non-pothead variety and maybe a few others) here always up for BS'ing about anything hobby related. I hear ya on the "flaming" thing. Fortunately, that doesn't happen too...
I'm glad I've never run into that customer while I was there. Sounds like a bit of a freeloader!
It really can't be said enough what a great guy Steve is. Don't go there expecting to be blown away by a big, clean store (quite the contrary) but if you want to talk to a guy who's been in the...
