Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
yeah there's a short window of time that you can edit a post.
Also thanks for the links. I'm gonna give this a try as it seems like a cheap way to help lower there numbers.
Just my experiance on this. I have the 120watt Value LED fixture on my 40 pillar and I have corals all the way down to the sand bed. Tank is 28" high and Fixture sits about 8" off the water. I have no problem with growth or colors.
So at some point I took a step back and they are back to where they were originally. So I did a little reading and I'm going to try the sucking them out and through a sock way, then dump the water back in the tank. This way I don't have to add any NSW.
Heres hoping.
I had scrubbed a couple that had alot of algae growing on them with no ill affect. It was a 50/50 mix with rodi water. Rinsed in fresh rodi water and put back it the tank. Opened up next day.
So Does anyone know of a way to kill/prevent these terrible things?
I had so many on the side of my house I went and sprayed the whole out side of my house with bayer. I think it killed what was there (50+ no exaggeration) but I know it wont prevent more from coming. I'm just so frustrated...
For some reason I can't keep my alk up. My cal is always above 440 but my alk drops to 6 on the regular. What could be sucking all the alk out of my water and not so much of the cal? I've even gone weeks where I don't dose cal and just does alk just to see if the cal will come down. Even right...
I like Loctite Super Glue Gel the most. No air bubbles in the glue making it ooze out if you don't put the cap back on. Plus is easier to control the flow of glue. Its A LOT cheaper at AC Moores or Micheals vs HD or the local convenient store.
I don't do an exact messurement on it. Its half a country crock container of sw to 10 mill bayer. I've gone a little stronger as well with no ill affect.
I go 15 min dip, 2 SW Rinses, Then tank.
Yeah I got the epoxy, but have yet to do it as I wanted to tackle the dino problem I have first.
Yeah right now I'm at the convince the wife stage of another tank. LOL.
As far as the stick goes, I wish I remembered the names of them so I knew what they would turn into.
Nope. Just kalk in the topoff and alk/cal 2 part.
Don't know whats happening but the dino is dwindling but the few spots of algae(looks like tough green algae, not HA) is doing fine, if not better. I think I'm just going to keep the green stuff short and leave it there as I don't have any real...
Is there still flesh on the bottom or did it stn? If there is still flesh I would just lower it in the tank and let it adjust until it starts to color up, then I'd start to move it up until you reach your desired spot.
Bleaching can be from such a large variety of issues that I would give it...
Lights on, but only 5 hrs. Looks better. I only see it on the rock and not on the corals so that's good. Only down side with the whole thing is my nem walked and made me nervous so I have to figure out if I'm putting him back in the DT or think of a good argument to set up a nem dedicated nano.
