I don't know how old it is, but I used it as my return pump for 10 months or so with no problems. It's a little noisy, but works great. I'm using an internal pump in my new sump, so I can't use this anymore.
Must be picked up in East Windsor/Hightstown.
I also have an old 75 gallon tank...
I bought the Tunze Osmolator second-hand in Nov 2008 and used it for about a year. I never had any issues, and it still works great. $80
JBJ ATO was purchased new in April 2008 and used for about 8 months. It also works great. $40
I’m in East Windsor/Hightstown. I prefer items be picked...
This looks very similar to the Lobophora that I've been battling. It started out as small patches here and there, and just kept growing. I thought more flow would help, but it actually grew even more anytime I increased flow. After searching a lot here and RC, I added a sally lightfoot crab...
I switched from Instant Ocean to Reef Crystals a couple of months ago. I never had the brown stuff with IO, but get it all the time with RC. I always add salt to the water, and I always clean the brute using bleach after each use, and let it completely dry before starting a new batch. I find the...
So, about an hour ago I notice a ton of micro bubbles (so I thought), and I start freaking out, trying to find the source. Then, I see a snail spew out a cloud of white stuff, then I see others do the same thing within a few minutes of each other. Now it's snowing in my tank!
I assume they're...
My other big hobby is bluegrass music. The kind of stuff that most normal people would have nothing to do with! I collect posters, photos, and other junk related to the music. In fact, I have my collection posted on a website – www.bgcollector.net. It’s not as up to date as I would like, but...
Well, I don't have time or materials right now to build pillars or arches, so I decided to fill in the blank. I think I can live with this for a while.
Thanks John, that's a good suggestion. I'll give the arch concept some thought. I really like the way the right side looks, but not so much the left. I was thinking of trying my hand at building a tower. Maybe I can re-do the left and incorporate the tower in the center.
Inhabitants all seem to...
So this is what I came up with… for now. It’s such a different look with so much less rock, but I think I like it. It’s definitely opened up, and I was able to incorporate more horizontal space for easier coral placement. The fish don’t like me very much right now, but I think they’ll get used...
Thanks for the comments, folks. It was a tough decision for me to change the layout. Sometimes I loved the way it looked, then other times I hated it. Whenever I came home with some new coral, I seemed to have trouble finding a decent place to attach it. Also, I know I was getting a lot of junk...
Oh, you had to mention your 125 upgrade, huh? You don't know how badly I want to do that! Maybe someday. Here's what my 90 currently looks like. Honestly, I can't imagine this will ever look as good as a lot of tanks I see here. I want to open this up and let it breathe so it doesn't just look...
This is probably a dumb question. I want to do some major re-aquascaping in my 90g. I don’t really like the rock-wall effect that I ended up with, so want to open it up. I only have a handful of corals, so I can move them to a section of my sump temporarily. I have just three fish (Coral Beauty...
A while back, Allquatics had a used Oceanic RR 120 with stand and hood at a reasonable price, as I recall. I'm pretty sure it was still in the store last time I was there a couple of weeks ago. I opted for a 90 when I started up about 7 months ago. Of course, now I wish I had gone bigger.
Tom
Well, I decided to take advantage of the one-day sale at Allquatics and ordered 2 Vortechs. Their regular price is just a tiny bit more than the usual $420 available at most online retailers, but a 15% discount is awesome.
