    i agreed with Steve, i also set it that high - so i only need to cleaning 1 section (not two). you can try to adjust your output valve to see if it help before you getting a new pump.

    i think BobCReef's idea would work, you no need to remove fish or anything... just lower the water on the side... with the carpet is a bit tough, but should still do able. where are you located? if near by, i can stop by to help...

    how about: - put a small bucket inside the tank (fill with water) - move the clam in the bucket - take the bucket out - scrub the bubble off (inside the bucket) - move the clam out and put back in the tank... ;-)
