Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Grats on the save!
I propose that while netted it will settle exactly where you like it then, within 48 hours, it will migrate to the least visible area in your tank. ;)
This is sorta cool. Apparently models aren't just models anymore, a load of kits offer 'serious modeler' upgrades.
In my case I piked up an upgrade kit for the D-7 that included the LEDs, modified plastic parts to diffuse the light properly, and photoetched parts.
With some research, seems...
Kit 2 just came in. :)
Its a Klingon D-7 at 1:350 scale, which puts this puppy somewhere around 3 feet.
Picked up the LED lighting and effects kit as well.
Had a similar situation with introducing a gladiator quite a few years back when they were the fashion. NIce as they look they're quite aggressive (guess its in the name). Lost a 3yo clown to one, same deal. If you're going to keep the gladiator be aware that she'll probably be hyper aggressive...
Mmmm.. Cheato needs space to tumble a bit and needs a good source of direct light. I'm concerned that putting such a small amount in the cage will cause it to brown and release phosphates, which sorta defeats the purpose of cheato and may harm the horses.
Any artificial alternative?
Maybe a base...
Happy to see this is coming to fruition!
Still wondering what jabbing you're going through as your wife won the tank, but as a married reefer I can speculate and sympathize ;)
Hoping to see an epic build thread.
OOOH! Thats Nice! Can I have it!?
:)
Seriously, I've always been a softie/zoa guy. Mainly because I'm a lazy chilled out reefer.
I follow a pattern that many here who know me know, where I go from multiple nanos, very successful with zoas and shrooms to a larger tank or two where I expand out...
So, this is a bit odd.
I woke this morning thinking about the tank.
I've been through many tanks over the years and have always preferred nanos 60g or under.
And I've always loved zoas.
I go through cycles of going bigger then downsizing after 1-2 years. But, a decent sized zoa breeder with an...
My gift is a quick scan of the smilies and sending all the ones I saw and initially thought 'WTF is that?'

Heya J,
Been down with potential surgery myself and tank has gone to pot as I haven't been able to do water changes in 3 months, nevermind that general feeling of illness and disinterest in more trivial things outside rest and recovery.
What type of algae does your tank have?
I'm over-run with...
Got a 5g set up and cycled and invert only. Decided that, as its going to be sorta dirty, maybe I can try to get back to some zoas.
As many may know I had massive zoa colonies and during an ill run of events, they were reduced to nada.
I'm running sps now but to be honest, I'd drop the 120g SPS...

Brick Petco got a rare shipment in.
I picked up 2, they're the size of medium to large emeralds.
Andrew still had a couple left as of 3pm today, but they were generating interest quickly.
READ THIS FOR A BIT OF MEMBRANE FYI
OK, did a bunch of research today.
Here's what I learned via GE, Dow, two major fish retailer employees, and one long term hobbiest.
Membranes are membranes.
The difference is in effectiveness and daily production (gallons per day). We should be most...
My system crapped out and, after complete disassembly, all is good, so the membrane seems the suspect.
I have a Spectrapure MFM0090 standard membrane in there now.
If I replace it with same, it will take a few days to a week to receive, in which case I will end up buying water.
But...
Amazon...
Ha!
I'm waiting to see if I'm getting a tax refund to help support a new powerhead for my 120.
Recently I put together a pico/frag tank, 5 gallon, and with pump, bulkheads, small light, sand, rubble rock, etc. I'm still out a couple hundred bucks before livestock.
I'm sure if EVERY hobbiest...
