The rocks
I picked up a 20# box of Marco rocks (flat),
70
and a box of a dozen 3/8" acrylic rods,
and with a masonry bit and some glue/epoxy made a few structures...
I
I have plenty of acrylic rod left over if anyone needs any.
The tank bottom
I picked up a large sheet of laminate...
Zoas are funny like that, I've been specific with them for about 2 years now.
About 18 months ago I started adjusting them based on bases.
Anything stretching, I'd move up in the tank slow (or I'd increase intensity of each light channel by 5 per week).
I'd move the Gummie Bears and Hornets up...
Need help from someone experienced next Saturday or Sunday.
My 120 is up and I'm going to be transferring, but the colonies in my 40 are out of control.
Pay will be most excellent beer, a good eating while fragging meal, and generous frags of Radioactives, Utter Chas, Superman and red montis...
Diana, Initially I couldnt see well due to the quick swelling and the tearing up. A taxi was in the works if things went bad with vision. I was working to keep the swelling at bay as best I could but there wasnt an effect on my actual sight at all. I could open the swollen eye and see fine.
I often reach into my tanks to replace snail-plowed coral to its position, recover a scraper, place a frag exactly where I want it, etc...
Never had a problem in all the years I've been doing this.
And I've gotten lazy.
Lazy means that I slowly moved away from gloves, then away from the...

I'm not going to go into graphic detail, but I tried it once without instruction and we spent weeks cleaning tuna off the woodwork and out of crevasses and orafices.
They're there for a reason.
If food sits in the Jebao it may clog the lines.
I have 2 Eheim autofeeders and they work great, though dumping into the sump may just lead to a collection of food in a non filtered area.
Why not just use the Eheim to dose directly into the tank near the return?
Initially I thought 'Wow, that's small, even for a 5g', but it works really well and balances the tank nicely. All looks great.
Watch the Xenia. The stuff will spread by spore and take over the entire tank. Relatively quickly. If you don't want a Xenia specific tank, I'd get it out of there ASAP.
Saw Mark's tank in person a few months back.
Look at the arch running from mid tank to the right.
The man made it from shells. And it looks ^&%K*(* great.
He's insane. And he saved my arse from a plumbing mistake on my new build (thanks Mark!).
Many moons ago, when I flew with the Coast Guard and could fit into a flight suit, I would occasionally be stationed in Guantanamo Bay.
Before it became a prison camp it was loaded with interesting things, like iguanas, bazillions of tiny lizards, iguanas, vultures, scorpions, banana rats, and...
Fishcicles, coralcicles, snailcicles, and such.
But, one can argue that in a well insulated house, over a few hours, with the water buffer, and a tank kept at 79-80F, the temperature drop may be negligible over a few hours, especially in larger tanks.
Even if a drop of 4-5 degrees occurs over a...
