    Overflow advice Durso/Herbie

Thanks for that. Wasn't thinking when i built the manifold. Restarting :)

    New to this

Very nice. I keep trying, but most stuff I make tends to end up looking like a kids gold painted macaroni and macrame project.

The 120 I said would never happen

J, Good suggestion and I went to follow it. NOne of the stores woud actually bend the conduit for me. I was going to pick up a bender (heh), use it and return it, but then I couldn't find any decent cap offs for the conduit ends. The successful but meh hanger project Episode 1.0: It'll work...

    Overflow advice Durso/Herbie

OR, what about stealing the water for the swirls back before it gets to skimmer? Something like... Still would appreciate thoughts on Durso/HErbie combo or just Herbie, as well as thoughts on above 2 plumbing options for flow.

    Overflow advice Durso/Herbie

If the Herbie will handle the 1200 that great, I'll go that way. Per 1200gph, the problem is I'm running seaswirls that are powered from the sump return. I may add a manifold to decrease flow through the 3/4" returns and increase flow through the swirls, then I think I'd be able to dial back...

    Overflow advice Durso/Herbie

So I have 2 downpipes, 1", in the new tank. Never had 2 before, trying to figure out what to do. I'm confused on flow, so I ask for advice. The return from sump to tank will be split between 1 or 2 pumps and will be supplying 2x 3/4" returns as well as 2x 1/2" seaswirls, so I'm going to have at...

    Zoas shrinking/melting

Thats a stoma. If you want to get rid of them I'll take them off your hands by the dozen. :)

    Zoas shrinking/melting

Sorry, by current leak I meant voltage. I had a prob a few years back that was caused by a malfunctioning heater putting electric current/voltage into tank, I had been mysteriously losing zoas. Just a thought. There are a number of vids out there on how to test. Basically a voltmeter, an outlet...

    WTB ATO

I did a bit of research on 'simple' ATOs and found this... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NC9DPR9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Seems to have good reviews on many sites. I set it up on a 40 nano and have been messing with it trying to stump it or make it screw up to no...

    HOB Algae scrubber

Zombie thread. Never moved further forward with this as simply hanging a scratched up screen anywhere under light seemed to work well enough. I actually still have the filter, if you’d like it to give an experimental build a go its yours.

et, can you get me a photo so I can determine the model? David, Thanks but a bit too small for my needs, need to go with a PF300 (ideally) or 800.

    WTB: HOB overflow

Eshopps preferred (or CPR) Its for a 40b Wilson, I saw yours and was seriously tempted to run it with one tube, but it may be 2-3 weeks before I'm back up in that part of Jersey.

    Coral Reef To Classroom

Welcome aboard and my sincere best on your program, it sounds fantastic. Love the fact that you're involving STEM and I think its a great idea. If you can send in some pics of the tanks and kids to post that would be great and probably help forward the cause. What ages are you targeting? Are you...

The 120 I said would never happen

Sponge, Thanks so much for the offer, but I'm off on tangents already. Depending on where this goes I may well be back to 1" copper. Harth, I looked into the 80/20. I'm looking for a mount system that can attach to the stand, not bend under weight, and is reasonably priced and has potential of...

Can someone tell me what this is
