Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
and he is backkkkkkk... I was wondering where the heck you'd been
let me know how you like the nuvo, i want to get an AIO nano for my bedroom, but then was considering a deep blue 30g frag tank and plumbing a sump on it.
Take it slow when introducing so many different things, your tank is still trying to stabilize and you've had it on a roller coaster of different medias.
I feel you, in a complete reef way. If you look at my thread for my tank I've had ups, downs, downs, and now going up.
Toss the pellets, do gfo, take it slow, and ride the wave. I'd recommend not adding ANYTHING until you get it situated brother.
Just reviewing my build thread, I've developed a lot of patience and letting my tank takes it course.
4/25/2014 - all fish gone
5/11/2014 - started cycling tank again
7/02/2014 - purchased anthias from diver's den
anthias in qt since 7/2/2014
If you have a 150g w/ your sump, accounting for water displacement I'd do 1 cup.
If you shut off the pellets, remove them and dump them in the trash.
your tank is still fairly new so you're prob facing some ups and downs, I hope you get it on track!
You don't want to leave the biopellets without flow, the bacteria will start to die. If you want to cut it in half, keep it running, remove half, then turn it back on. But do not let the reactor sit without flow in it the whole time you are at work!
I ran pellets for a short time, the only thing I noticed with them was the cyano. I personally am running gfo + carbon now as opposed to pellets. Some people have luck with them, others don't unfortunately.
do not turn off flow to the biopellet reactors then turn it back on after a few days, all that bacteria will die. if you turn the reactor off for a few days dump the pellets in there!
Anyone have some corraline scrapings they can spare? I want to seed my tank.
Or if someone has a small piece of live rock that hasn't had any aptasia/pests/etc. I'd buy that.
