Should the skimmer be turned off while dosing live phyto? I'm dosing to feed the pods I added as well as try to avoid the ugly stage. I'm thinking I should and if so, how long should it stay off?

I was told that the stores around here house their captive bred fish in their main systems.... I don't have the space to run my own QT so was going to order already QT'd fish. Do you know of a local store thar doesn't add them to their main system and keeps them sterile?

Are 2 clowns and 2 bangaii too much in a newly cycled 50 gallon tank using Dr. Tim's? Would hate to spend $60 on shipping for only 1-2 fish.

It is a really shallow tank at only 16 inches so I shouldn't have any issues with PAR. Corals on the top may get blasted with too much.

I thought about this and I will probably add both some LPS & SPS down the road. Not too much though as I don't want this tank to be super heavy maintenance. I also didn't want to go so rock heavy that the fish have no where to swim. Wanted to keep it away from the glass on all 4 sides for not...

Is the standard to still use egg crate on the bottom of the tank and place the rocks on that before adding the sand? I've seen many tank builds recently that don't seem to both with it anymore........
