Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Unfortunately, most issues are due to water used. They do make a small under sink RO unit. That would be what I would recommend as well. Public water supplies change their parameters too often to reliably know what is in the water.
Who here is having success keeping SPS using LED lights? I'm thinking about setting up a dedicated SPS grow out tank and was thinking 250W 14K MH's, but would love to save on electric. I want good quick growth while keeping colors vibrant.
Is anyone here having success with LED's? If so...
Has anyone else seen this build over on R2R? Amazing build and the SPS this guy has is STUNNING!!
AV99's custom 600g Reef Savvy on site build-Lots of pictures
I would recommend just leaving it. Yea you can polish it, but what does that do to the glass? As someone who has had 3 tanks crack, I wouldn't take a chance at weakening the glass at all.
If I remember correctly...after the dosing period I ran a HUGE bag of carbon in the sump. I think it was 4 pounds of carbon...it was A LOT! Everything lived...fish, inverts, coral.
Dosing is always a fear. I always dose with caution. I always round my dose down. The issue I find with manual removal was they are so small and flat, they can get in every crack and crevice in the tank....never being able to remove them all.
I think I know the answer to this, but wanted to get a group consensus.
I think it is getting close to me getting back in the game with my 180. I have a fully finished basement with cheap carpet (the house flippers installed it). Should I just place the tank on top of the carpet or should I...
I personally used all dry/base rock. Did not want to take any chances with pests. No matter how closely you inspect the rock...something always comes in.
Good to hear he is getting back on his feet! And family should definitely come first! But, if he doesn't have enough contents coverage then he needs a new insurance agent. Contents coverage standard is 70% of the dwelling coverage.
Not trying to questions anyone, but from what I have been reading, ALL existing state-issued commercial collectors’ permits are now illegal and invalid. The stock right now is probably what is left over at the distributors.
