How big of a sump do you have? any rock in there? how much is "full of rock"? could you post a picture & possibly give us the weight of the rock(total, not piece by piece). on avg most people say 1.5-2 lbs of rock per gallon of tank water. but that depends on what rock you've got.
by ptuting a QT tank in your sump I assume you mean completely seperated off from the rest. I don't reccomend it as i like to keep my QT very far away from my DT so nothing transfers over. with it in your sump you may have the urge to use some of the same equipment because it's right there.. If...
a friend has the blue reef chromis & they POP much more than you'd think. I figured they'd lose their coloration, but 2 years going strong same deep deep blue.

so the post filter is your DI? did this 240 gallons run through your RO section of the setup? How long do these filters last lol. Sucks but hey at least it's in the basement & you get to keep your tank haha.
I do this every 2-3 weeks. I've actually developed an intricate system involving bells on string & a water bottle to try to alert me that it's full.. still doesn't work lol
