Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
You may want to invest in an ammonia badge. Depending on your livestock, you may also want to do biweekly water changes. Did you move your rock in? Did you add live sand? What are you doing for water oxygenation and nutrient export other than the WC?
The tank has 120g of water in it, and is about 2/3 full.
We are leak testing, so far so good. Tank remained level over night, with the H2O in it.
We will be picking up more water today; let the aquascaping begin!
Thanks, Steve and Sunny.
Steve, the tank will be delivered (in house and set up) by ELOS on Friday afternoon, but we appreciate the thought. If you would like to come over, observe, and have a beer, and let your daughter chase our new kitten, you are welcome, but (thankfully) neither you nor...
To be perfectly honest, I love this little tank. There are plenty of LPS that can be kept successfully if you have the PC lighting version, and so far, I am getting good color out of the LED version. I really can't speak to it as a frag tank, I have not had it long enough. We have small gobies...
4 pieces are gone, which is about it for this round. Ecambero, Empire, Hawkeye, and Jose.
I am not going to lock this becuase Empire can't pm yet, but no more frags are available.
So the new JBJ has been running for three weeks, and I am pleased to report that the tank is doing very well.
I was worried the Favias would be shocked by the transition from PC to LED, but the corals are all doing well.
We almost lost our dendro this summer; it started melting on us. After...
I am looking for:
Pink birdsnest
bird of paradise
green birdsnest
ponipae birdsnest
setosa
Please PM me if you have frags of theses corals available, along with price and location.
Thank you!
This coral is growing like crazy on our frag rack, send me a PM if you would like a frag. We have had this coral since 2009. It is currently under T5 lighting, about 8" below the light.
I reserve the right to select who this coral goes to.
A couple of conditions:
If I give you a frag, and...
For what is worth, I would frag the sps, and put the frags in your new tank.
regarding the LPS, I would take a look at the skeletons: do they have algae on them? Do they have apstatia on them? If they have apstatia on them, I would take the coal out, apstatia x. If there is briopsis, that can be...
I have found rouble rock in a HOB filter to be something that traps detritus, personally. You may want to remove it. You can also try adding some macro algae; I have seen several "refugium" mods to HOB filters that have worked well at reducing nitrates.
When you set the tank up, did you use...
As Seahorsekeeper said, PaulB has been doing so for years. The consciencious marine aquarist has a section in the book about it; my understanding is you want to keep it in the dark and consider chlorinating and de-chlorinating it to avoid pests. That said, i believe (believe, not am certain)...
