Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
My CBBs have always gone nuts for PE Mysis -- No fish can resist it! Dittos on the live blackworms though, that's probably their favorite. They say a freshly opened clam is irresistable, but that has never worked for me.
Here Endeth the Tale
This thread has been going on for nearly two years and it's time to bring it to a close. Tales shouldn't go on forever, should they? Look at The Guiding Light, it went on 40 years, because that's what soap operas do. It's a bore.
My Big Ol' Tank is doing great right now...
Thanks guys!
I like the whole reef-safe-butterfly thing so there's probably a pyramid (or dare I say a Tinkeri?) in my future. Charles Delbeek wrote an article on some other candidates a while back. No more brown Heniochus, though, that was toooo painful!
Yes, curse Petco, I agree. But avoid buying fish that have just been shipped to ANY store, many of them die during the first couple of days from stress, disease, cold, etc. At every store.

The man doesn't have a reef tank, he has a couple of holding tanks. ::) Let's have a picture of the LR holding tub!
There is a kind of sloppy but effective way you can do it, especially if the pump sits a bit lower than the tank, like on the floor. You use a street elbow to make a u-tube over the rim of the tank, and cap the open part of the WYE. Then you have a standpipe that you can fill with water (by...
Anybody else see the November FAMA? The thing is only 80 pages, it's like a booklet! Pretty sad, I only get it so I can read the ads, now there's hardly enough to make a decent size magazine. :'(

Well, you know I have that clone, and it's gonna split for me someday...so you can get it back if the worst happens.
Knock-me-over-with-a-feather Department: That dang sea anemone showed up! Or rather, was hiding in plain sight. The thing managed to walk right into a rock covered with zoanthids, it's almost surrounded. It wasn't facing towards the front. I was looking at the rock and said, "That's one big...
Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.
Yeah, I know, adding fish seems like playing Jenga sometimes, just one more but you don't want to upset the whole thing!
Something else that occurs to me is that the tank looks dark because (a) The wine-red coraline and red brillo algae give a dark look, and (b) I have almost NO light coming from an angle which would light the front of the rockwork. It all comes straight down. Maybe I could either add some small...
Yes, the vodka. It's a 1750ml bottle, and I dose 4.5ml per day, and yet the bottle only lasts a month....must be evaporation. I invented a drink called an "Alky Mary," it's vodka and kalkwasser. Cures heartburn too.
Non-stick items have been isolated to a well-lit quarantine zone behind the...

Re: Jimroth's Big Ol' Tank Pix
I haven't taken any pix in a while, so there's some new stuff to show and also a fair amount of growth. It's a funny feeling when SPS grow into each other, you are proud of the growth but feel like a fool for putting them too close!
No growth here! I bought this...
