Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
those are not the same as the "tigger copepods". Tibse copepods are common - the species being sold by reefnutrition is a different species altogether.
i use kalkwasser to keep my ph to 8.5 consistently. I can't speak to two part. I'm sure a lot of people use it and can chime in. My understanding is that one part (of the two part) is indeed a buffer for alkalinity which should help maintain pH. When alk is there, it helps to minimize pH swings.
That's the L series. The L series offers the image stabilization. Frankly I intend to take photos of the corals in my tank. They are not moving and using a tripod is a no brainer.
I guess i could take some pics of flowers or such. But even then I'm not 100% convinced I want to drop...
Hmmm - I would be patient and seed everything with biospira. This way you control exactly the bacteria that is going into the tank and nothing else. You could also seed the tank with "live" sand purchased from the LFS.
When i bought LR (from a fellow club member) I ended up introducing...
nassarius will help to turn the sandbed slightly and eat any food that lands on the bottom. But if you want something to eat the growth on the sand you'll need either fighting conches or a sea cucumber - but i'm not sure the latter is ok given a 45 cube may not have enough sand real estate to...
hey man - if it's bryopsis - a gallon of tech M will destroy the stuff in a month or two with no danger to the rest of the tank.
If it's just regular HA - just throw in a couple mexican turbos.
consider mexican turbos = $20 for 2~3.
Tech M is $30 or so for a gallon.
vs selling your tank at...
after what he has been thru - i wouldn't be surprised if jim was dosing vodka to himself!!!!!! :D
but it does seem like things are looking up.
So you are the second person to warn of the hypnotic and aggressive growth of pocci. My pocci (courtesy of herb) is confined to a small island...
have you considered increasing the output on the mp10s? maybe that will discourage the growth?
The other question is what your clean up crew consists of. Anything for the sand?
i've never heard of a choc chip star eating corals (but you may be right)- but i have read that they are dicey proposition with tridacnid clams.
As for the fish - he knows - there was another thread about him wanting to add a clam but first having to remove the fish. I think his family loves...
I think I read an internet quote that is very appropriate - something like " the surest sign of intelligent life outside of earth is the fact that they have never contacted us"....HAHAHA.
sweet! i completely forgot about that. for some reason I thought I gave you cheato...lotta people asking for that lately.
Good to know another captive bred brother/sister/cousin is alive! hahaha.
The tunze ATO is a set it and forget it thing. The ONLY thing I check is to ensure the top off water is never exhausted of water, if an airbubble gets into the tunze pump - it will cause it to stop functioning correctly. I take it you eliminated this risk with the solenoids?
how does a...
is the the L series version? i've been keeping my eye out on this non L series one:
