I'm pretty sure if you slow the effluent rate that you will get a higher alk output... or turn up the co2 ammount to a higher bubble count. Both will result in higher alk

Unless there is a stalk base to those guys that is skeleton and not flesh, I do not think you can frag them just yet. If there is a hard skeleton showing at the base of the baby heads then it is as simple as using your coral clippers to snap them off.

That is green hair algea for sure, or turf algea. Either way its the same. If you don't have one already you can try to throw an emerald crab in there to eat it but I'd advise pulling it all off and OUT of the tank. Make sure to keep up on it.
