Ok....now that the crisis has been averted for now, I will tell you what I did.
Right now I have a 55 with all my fish, all 8 of them, all my inverts, all my corals. I have a 45 Gallon trash can that I use for water mixing holding all my LR, except for a bunch of pieces in the 55, with a heater...
Sorry...That might help...I'm in East Hanover. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Right now I have a 55 with livestock and some rock, a trashcan with live rock, and a 20 gallon tank with sand. I'm not sure I have room to put a stock tank right now.
Not many people here know me....I'm Trigger99's neighbor and I am in need of some BIG help!!
I just noticed my stand pulling away from my tank!!! Looking underneath, I noticed the bottom plastic around the tank is cracking and the tank is inching toward the inside of the stand. I have 180 with...
I've been talking to some people and it seems that I should drill the hole toward the top of the tank this way I do not have to worry about the water levels wanting to be equal and the water from the fuge will "overflow" down into the sump.
I'm only talking the tank will be about a foot from...
I'm going to try and attempt my DIY refugium once again. here is a picture of what I propose.
I have a drain line going into the fuge. Then I will drill a hole into the side, near the bottom, of the 10 gallon and insert a bulkhead and connect a line to the sump from there. Will that work as...
I have store bought clams in my tank now for over a year. Your right they burrow into the sand and the only thing you see from them is there puff of sand. I have also have some die on me and strangely enough they actually surface before they die. It's strange but then my snails and emrald crab...
A question posed to me by someone that I figured I should ask. Will there be too much back pressure on the drain from the fuge from the return chamber of the sump that will cause the fuge not to gravity drain into the sump?
Sorry forgot to add the feed. I would T off the overflow drain pipe to feed water from the DT to the fuge, with a ball valve of course to manage the flow.
And then I was hoping the fuge would gravity feed from the fuge to the sump
I posted about this a while back. Maybe about a year, but I really need a refugium now as I can no longer control the algae in my tank because of my light fixture, so I am re-visiting my fuge.
Here is what I'm thinking....Since the 2 unused bulkheads on the sump are next to each other at the...
I have two questions....
First, what is the difference between a Magnificent Foxface and a Sumatra Magnificent Foxface besides where it comes from?? Are the colors or temperment different??
Second, I have read that this foxface must be keep cautiously with corals. Anyone have any experience...
you were right!! There was a wire jammed underneath one of the fans.....When I removed the fan I noticed the wire was stripped of it's shielding in the spot making connection with the metal of the fan!!
So I've been trying to figure out what the problem is with my light fixture, but I have had no luck and now it is really ticking me off!!
I have a Coralife Aqualight Pro with 3x150 HQI, 4x96 PC Actinics and moonlights. Now only 2 of the HQI's work. Every time I go to plug in the third one, it...
So I have all the equipment ready to go all I have to do it get the tank into the basement. Now as you all know this thing is heavy!! My stairs going into the basement are kind of narrow, just enough room to fit 2 guys shoulder to shoulder.
Does anyone have any experience moving this tank...
See.....I talked to him about having the 2 hot legs and he said that I don't have that. Either he doesn't know what he is doing or something.
I just plugged in all the pumps and lights and 1 heater into the outlets and nothing tripped. So I think I'm going to be ok.
