    air getting in the pump?? Is it from your return pump?? Is it coming from the physical pump or the plumbing connected to it?

    I've been trying to find a solution to them as well. I have not yet found a predator of them. Short of snapping them off one by one, they really will never go away.

    Did you figure out what they were?? Are they Vermetid snails?? Sure sounds like they are. I've cut myself on them a lot.

    I'd definitely say Vermetid Snails....I have them as well. They reproduce a lot if they have food...but they will die off as well. But the tubes will always stay.

    I'll worry about the sand when I decide what to do with the tank.....LOL. Still trying to find where I'm going to buy it and getting it back down to where the existing one is.
