I guess I added the live rock rubble to make sure I had proper feng shui in the back. ;) Your point makes sense and I will have to closely monitor that situation. BTW, our bumblee snails finally showed their dark side when they demolished one of my feather dusters. They never went after anything alive, they only went after dead snails or hermits which was nice to know because they were like little flags to pull out dead animals. They are now in the back chamber taking a time out.

We probably do feed too much doing it every day, but we have cut down. Once a day, and I cut back the amount being fed. The Rods reef doesn't really have the same "soup" that the SFB did and I know if you rinse the Rods reef you can actually lose some of the food. I will just have to monitor from here.

Looks good....BTW I had rubble in my back chamber....occasionally I would syphon it out to clean anything that had settled back there.

Thank you, I have been doing the same. So far I have discovered two nusince anenomes which have necessitated a reduction in the rubble- if only the bumble bees thougth thoes looked tasty. In the event I find any positive hitchikers back there, I'll keep you informed.

I know I have not posted in here for a while when I get the 120 days warning but I swear I am not trying to pad here :p. The reason I have let this go is because the tank has gone through some terrible stuff this summer. I had a heat spike that killed both my cleaners and started me on a big cyano spike. After relentlessly scrubbing and doing weekly water changes nothing changed. I lost corals at a pretty fast rate and needed to do something. I pulled all the rubble out of the back and added filter floss and suctioned all the water out of the back chambers. Changed carbon and chemi pure (which I was doing monthly anways), did essentially a 100% water change and cleaned the sand. Now I am still doing weekly water changes (and changing the filter floss) and started dosing Brightwell Microbacter7. So far things are doing better, but we will see. Some of my corals actually thrived through this whole thing which is odd. But here are some pictures:

The dendro started as one head and now has like 4 baby heads growing off

Added a bullseye pistol shrimp a little while back and finally got some pics of it. If you are considering a reef lobster, I would recommend one of these guys.

So we were going to break down this tank and sell it (and eventually we probably will) but we got a great deal on some fish so it remains running. For stocking plan we went with 2 helfrichi firefish and a magnificent goby. We got great deals on all three fish, so we were pretty happy. I will put some pics up tomorrow everyone is a little freaked out right now and acclimating under the moon lights.

(Forgot to mention the whole B.C. A.D. yadda yadda thing)

Awesome tank ;D
Love the shrimp and orange ric. I plan on buying from Mr. Coral as well. Im also glad I found one of your tanks to follow :)

So finally got some pics of the helfrichi pair. Magnificent goby has made his home in a cave so tough to get pictures. Both fish ate very well tonight, magnificent made some stabs at the food so we will see.

Thank you guys for the compliments, we have been waiting on that goby because it is also a jumper and we wanted a covered tank. He is a bit reclusive, spends a lot of time in his caves with the pistol shrimp, but when he comes out to feed he is very interesting to watch. He came from Reef to Reptiles, and we got a great deal on him.

We love him, but he doesn't love us . . . yet. Every time I get close to the tank to feed, he flares his fin at me. Makes for a pretty display, but pretty sure it doesn't mean he thinks I'm cute :)

A new little guy we added in the nano spirit a flaming prawn goby. Little guys, but beautiful.
