135 Gal Mixer

To start I have a 135 gal with a 20 gal sump and a 40 gal column tied in(filling with macro(future refugium(kinda)))lol. Pumps are unknown, 2 HOB skimmers(rated 75 gal, 125 gal). 6 bulb 54watt t5HO fixture over the 135 gal. and a 2 bulb 24watt t5HO fixture over the 40 gal. Just started to use RODI water so algea is everywhere. Fish include (135 gal) 2 dart fish, 1 YWG/Pistol, 1 lawnmower blenny, and 1 scooter blenny (40) snowflake eel. Inverts are (135) Skunk cleaner shrimp, red linki star, sand sifting star, Blue and red leg hermits, and a pistol shrimp (40) monster chocolate chip star, and NJ hermit crabs. Here are pics of corals I've aquired so far(sorry if the names aren't right).

I had a really nice Snowflake Eel once, that ate only the best shrimp money could buy, Blood, Skunk, Coral Banded, Peppermint, etc.

Thats why his roomates are only the Monster star and hermits. I was also under the impression snowflakes were fish eaters not so much as an invert eater.

Good to know. I was getting ready to get some silver sides. I guess I'll pick up some shrimp, clams, and squid from the local food store.

You should be able to feed it almost anything. I used to feed mine, scallops, shrimp and fish...ON A BAMBOO SKEWER. It would be fine with fish in a tank, but will definitely go after any of your crustacean's.

I'm going to use a hard plastic air tube. I just hope he eats as the LFS was only feeding it goldfish.

So I fed the eel and it was surprizing how aggressive it was on the food. There was also a large hermit crab that wanted the food as well. It actually went and grabbed the eels face LOL. Well the eel was having no parts of that. Ripped off half the hermits legs, ate them, then ate the chunk of fish. One of the funniest things I've seen in my tanks. A hermit starting with an eel and loosing.

Small update. Replaced all the small power heads with one 900gph powerjet. Went from a lowflow tank to a high flow tank. Had to do some moving around with the corals. Some were unhappy with the flow and needed to be moved. Also have a tiger sea cucumber but its almost impossible to get a pic of it as it never fully comes out of the rock it has made home.
