Lowered my lights from 15" above tank to 7" above tank.

15" Lux reading - 19,000 / 60 = Par of 317
7" Lux reading - 31,000 / 60 = Par of 517

Dividing by 60 was posted on a different thread in NJRC.

Thoughts on this move? Just trying to get coral to grow better. In 30 minutes the little Duncan frag is opening up. Wonder if it was the light all along with the larger Duncan I had?

The middle us to dark so have to move the lights closer to the center. It takes me forever to line them up. So many holes in the wood above the tank.

Mine is MIA now, guess it finally died. It was losing spines for awhile.

I hear you. I should mention the par is from the light to the screen. Used my Lux meter app.
That’s still roughly a 60% instant increase. But anyway, if you’re truly concerned about PAR, your PAR reading from the light to the screen is pretty useless. To have a better idea where you stand on PAR, you should get a PAR meter in the water!

Keep your eye on your Frags specially when you have lots of softys. You could get away with it but just keep looking the next few days just in case so you don’t burn anything…

So centered the lights today and performed a 10g water change.
