<scratches head>
I never even knew or heard about the jynx about keeping your hands out of the tank. I must make a quick mental note on that one. Gees, Bill, I'm so sorry about that domino-effect that happened to you. And you remained calm and cool the entire time? I know had it been me, my family would have not only cleared the room, but flat out leave the house. :p

Is there anything I can do? I don't have any spare strainers, and quite honestly, some of the stuff you mentioned I am totally unfamiliar with. Tells you what a newb I really am. :-[

As for your tank: WOW WOW WOW!!!! The growth is unbelievable. What super colors, what a pretty layout. What eye candy! I applaud you!

Who said that? ;D

It wasn't so bad since I found out the bad stuff the next day and I had to figure out the mystery of just how it got wet.

Thanks to everyone for the offers of help and spare parts. And thanks for the compliments on the tank. I just wish I could get the true colors posted. It really does look much nicer.

Someday I need to get some lessons from the pros. ;)

I feel all your pain Bill.

... And, let me know when you find a Pro who doesn't spill water, drop stuff in the reef or have the occasional electrically related near disaster moment now and again. I need to shed all earthly belongings and follow that divine individual.

Well it ain't me that's for sure! ;D Getting buzzed usually means I'm working on the tank in damp socks.

Hey Bill, where are all the Tunze, Metal Halides, Calcium Reactor, T5, Carbon dosing and all other HIGH END Stuff to produce and keep a BEAUTIFUL tank like that up and running. You can't fool me......

Thanks Harry!

In most cases the corals are just wedged in the rockwork. Another reason why I don't like to go into the tank. :D

Some are epoxied in place, but most of the hammers and frogspawns are just wedged.

Tank looks really great. I wish I could have helped/watched you make the move I am sure it would have been a lesson in tankscaping. Really just amazing.

Thanks James. I thought about making upgrade day an open house, but I get a bit hyper with big projects like that and I didn't want to lose any friends. ;D

Bill, I just looked at all the pictures again, and I don't think I see your Elegance. Where is it? ???

Sorry about that! I knew you would be looking and I took one especially for you. I guess subconsciously I didn't want to post it because it's no where near as nice as yours and the picture was taken at the cyano-peak for the day. ;D

In the full tank shot it's in the front right corner.

What are you talking about not as pretty as mine? It's BEAUTIFUL!! I love the coloring on it. Thanks so much for posting the picture for me. Has it been eating well for you? Mine gobbles down several hacked up pieces of silversides once a week, and then I have to shoo all the fish away until it's all in the mouths. :)

I'm battling some cyano still, too. Not nearly as bad as it was a month ago, but it's still trying to creep up. I guess it's just a part of the "aging" process.

Thanks Wendy!

I have not been target feeding it. I know, I know how many times have I posted about the advantages of target feeding LPS. ::) I'll have to change that!

I love the long sweeping look of your elegance. Mine has the short and stubby look. (Boy there is a setup if ever there was one!)

Bill do you have any tiger tail cukes in the 180? I battled cyano for a long time until I got a pair of the TT cukes and then never had a problem with any algae on my sandbed.

Hey Jeff.

I have one humongous carribean yellow cuke that does a great job, but he may need help. The day always starts out cyano free, but by midday it appears.

I am considering changing my lighting combiantion as well. Since I'm running one ballast short at the moment, I have been rotating through the 3 pairs of lights I have with the two remaining ballasts. I have a pair of super actinics, a pair of 50/50 actinic white, and the last pair has one aquasun and one super actinic.

I noticed when the aquasun is on, I get a lot more cyano. I haven't been wild about the color with the aquasun so I'm planning on swapping the last combination for 2 50/50's.

I have anohther cuke in the 75 who is on the small side. I think I'll move him up to the big tank to help as well.

I added several peppermint shrimp when I first set the tank up to take care of aptaisia, but I see one now for the first time in several months, but I haven't seen the peppermints in some time. They use to come out at feeding time, but I haven't seen them since about a week after I added the blood shrimp. I wonder if he chases them?

So a second aptasia has appeared and still no sign of the peppermints, even though I have spent a lot of time looking at the tank after dark with a flaslight. (I'm trying to determine if I still host a blue linckia!)

Does anyone know if blood shrimp or cleaner shrimp have a sweet tooth for peppermint?
