I received my Mummy Eye chalice today. Took a beating tho as I forgot to bring a cooler to work. Had to sit in the box til 7pm in the backroom at work. Some of the flesh is peeling off around the edges, definitely lost a few eyes but I'm hoping it pulls thru. Here's a pic

well I was told it was a pretty hardy coral so I decided to let it be delivered to my job where I could let it sit in the back office at work in the AC so it definitely didn't get overheated. it looked ok til I got it out of the bag and dipped it(tons of bristle worms).. there goes $100 down the drain. smh
Just spoke with the seller. He's willing to send me out a 4-5 eye frag free of charge so that's very nice of him
I have a rather newbie question... If my glass has all of a sudden started getting more covered in dust algae, should I add my pellets? I think I tested my tank the other day and my po4 read 0.00ppm
Most likely due to the 2 big fish you added and the chalice colony that died. not sure on the pellets though

well it started doing it a couple days ago so I'm gonna say its from the 2 fish I added. I still need to add a half cup of pellets I think, maybe I'll do that next week when I have some off time from work

I told him I'd let him know how its doing. if he's gonna ship out another one, it won't be til next week when I'm off from work so I'll just use this week to see how it does. if it dies, then I'll have him ship me a frag. if not, then we'll see how it does.
Alright, got my 3rd light in and while I like how everything looks, I HATE the piece of wood I have the fixtures resting on. Here are some pics
I need to figure out a way to use these lights a different way. I can't hang em from the top of the canopy bc the wood is too flimsy. It'll bend with that much weight on there, I'd also like to bring the lights closer to the water surface. Any ideas?

Any ideas? How's everyone else hanging their lights over their 5-6 foot tanks?
don't think I'll be able to. the top of the canopy where I'd have to hang em from is too flimsy. it would bend really bad with 3 lights hanging from it.
What are they mounted on now?
