they're resting on top of a "wooden shelf" that slides back and forth but even that is starting to bow in the middle. and if you look at the one picture, you can see it resting on the wood with a "bar" in the middle. well that's blocking light so I have to get rid of that. This wood shelf was made for my photon 48 but I don't have that anymore so I gotta come up with something new.

Why don't you just make a bracket out of angle iron something like Daniel did the vp and bolt it to the sides of your canopy

Alright, I went out after work today to Lowes and picked up an 8ft dowel bar. My plan is to remove the shelf in there. Cut this dowel to size and hang all 3 lights from the dowel. I don't wanna have the lights hanging low, I want them kind up against the dowel. Any ideas on how to hang em from this?
I have a spot to hang the dowel, I just need a way to hang the lights from the dowel. How do u have yours hooked up? Can you take a close up pic?

alright, just checking. I don't need the brackets, I was just curious how you had it hanging from the dowel. I see you have chains. I'll have to go back to Lowes and see what they have. looking to set this up later on today after work.

Yesterday I did some maintenance to my tank(water change, cleaned glass etc). Well I also wanted to remove a couple mini colonies I had off of their plugs and mount them to the rocks. All of them look ok minus my red planet and another unknown. It seems the unknowns flesh is falling off from the bottom and the red planet has a similar thing but not as bad. Any idea why this would happen? All of my #'s r in check for the most part.
Most likely alk swing, or phos/nitrate being to low. But no one really knows what causes it.

nah I looked at it pretty closely. no signs of anything. do you think maybe it had something to do with breaking it off a plug and gluing it down to a rock?
