Dan's 150 Rebuild

6ft tank probably won't fit in that unless its a newer kia sportage... I'll let ya know though if my brother in law doesn't help out. Thanks Krista!!

Yeah, extremely mad at AC. I sent them an email, not expecting anything out of it but I'm literally pissed now. Had to wait 1 week bc it was on backorder aka "forgot to order" and now this week its the wrong tank Lol how hard is it to order a tank lol

Okay so I've been reading up on the Herbie method and I think I understand it but still have a few questions. What would normally be the return line in the overflow box is now your strainer to dump into the sump. The bigger of the 2 pipes will be your emergency drain.

Now my question is, are you just supposed to put a straight pipe going straight into the sump for the emergency pipe? Bc with mine I'm going to have to elbow it to go to the sump on the one side (corner overflows) is this going to be okay? I want this thing as noiseless as possible so I'll do whatever i gotta do

Oh and PS. Don't think I'll be able to reuse my manifold :(

I cant help with the question but I have a herbie andbits dead silent. 6 fwet from my bed and I cant hear a thing

The emergency will be fine with an elbow. I had several in my old setup. The emergency normally doesn't handle any flow unless your siphon needs to be adjusted. You want the emergency to be nice and noisy so that you know something is up when it is handling flow. For your siphon check out the king brothers gate valves on amazon. They will save you some $$.

One other tip when building your new manifold. Incorporate unions near your valves if you have the space. That way if you need to do something to the valves or want to reuse them you can just disconnect them at the unions.

Mike, is there anything else involved in a E-pipe or is it literally just a pipe sitting there with an open top and bottom?

I'm definitely going to need helping setting this up bc I have no clue what I'm doing lol

I was thinking, I can actually reuse my manifold, both drains will go down and I'll have 2 emergency pipes but Ill still need a return. Just keep it the same way under the tank. I'll probably have to redo my locline pipe bc of the corner overflows but it shouldn't be a problem. Am I right?
