I thought is was Quinine Sulfate....which by the way is a rather potent bactericidal drug. It has killed or is inhibiting the growth of bacteria on your pellets. I think it's as simple as that.

So what's that mean? Lol
He is suggesting that the medication reduced the amount of good bacteria in your tank, which also could have caused your biopellets to not properly mature (not work).

Not a brown algae at all, but what are called diatoms, these organisms need what all marine alga require to survive: light and food. The cure for this type of problem algae is the same as the prevention: Starve it into oblivion.

When this happened to me I started a second siphon from the DT to the sump where it dumped into a filter sock to help the skimmer export it. I changed the socks and sump as needed multiple times per day. As quickly as it came it was gone and the tank was crystal clear again. I also covered the display tank with newspaper, turned off the lights in the DT & sump for about 3 days.

Well I heard to start slow bc phosguard is strong. I only have 1 reactor and 1 biopellet reactor. I was gonna eventually use the BP reactor for phosguard when it got to a big amount of pellets.
