Don't feel like your tank is doing anything unusual. Just want to encourage you that all tanks go thru this stage. You will be just fine. keep up with the water changes, maybe supplement the crew that has died off.
If you want you can reduce the photoperiod. But I'd consider trying to up that Ph to over 8. It's odd to me that it is at 7.8 if your alk is good.
I even use kalk in the ATO...but ph is locked at 7.8
if you take a cup of water and vigorously aerate it - does the PH change?

I air-rate my ro water for a week before I run it through my di. It has high Co2 but its gassed out after a week. ph is pretty steady at 7.8 day or night for the most part.
It wasn't live when it went in the tank. A mix of BSR and Reef Rock. Both reportedly good rock.
