Flags Flown Have Mast ...Really?

Heard on the news they will be flying the flags at all state buildings at half mast for Whitney Houston. I think this Honor should be kept for American Heroes. They do not even do this for all the soldiers who make the ultimate sacrifice and they have the nerve to do this for her !

I am disgusted by that. Though, I do sympathize with those who suffer from addiction, I dont idolize them. Maybe if we gave the soldier as much press as Whitney Houston when they suffer a casualty this country might be a bit tighter in unity. Whitney has taken every channel for the past 3 days. How many US soldiers and sailors died in the last 3 days? No one knows, huh? Thats the problem!!

I think that lowering the flag for Whitney Houston is ridiculous. A marine from nj was killed in Afghanistan a day before Whitney Houston's death and how many have heard that news? Is the flag at half staff for a person who was defending this country and the flag? There is certain criteria for lowering the flag and this does not meet any of them. With this being said where was the backlash when the flag was lowered for Clarence Clemmons?

I am also kind of disturbed by some of the comments about drug addicts. I personally know people who have had addiction problems. I think it's pretty closed minded to dismiss the death of someone simply because of problems they may have had.
