Group Coral Growout

Excuse the newbie questions but will the colonies be dipped before they are fragged? Is the plan just to frag them and not mount them? This will be wild collected colonies right? Show we expect some browning as they adjust to our tank water? I want to make sure I'm prepared with what I need when the order comes in. I feel like a kids waiting for xmas. Thanks

I would say be prepared to dip them as well as mount them. I know I just stocked up on frag plugs for me and my brother.

Guys I have a whole case of BSI IC gel. Me personally I don't use plugs in my personal tank I glue to the rock where I want it to grow. I would not dip right away if possible. Bc of the stress from shipment. I would aclimate keep seperate (qt) if possible for a day or 2 then dip. If not drip aclimate into a bucket. Then add dip to that before going into tour system.

Thanks Mike

Unfortunately I don't have a separate qt for corals, just fish. Been thinking about adding one but the $ for the lighting keeps holding me back.

I'll drip iacclimate in a bucket and add dip like you suggested.

Petco has the $1 gal sale going on. Guess I'll pass by today for a 10 gal and fill it with a water change from the 90, add a small power power head and a odyssea 18"T5 I have laying around and I got an instant QT. That should cover me for at least a week or two.

Mike save me some of that glue just let me know how much you want.

Kinda getting sidetracked but how strong of lighting do you really need over a coral qt tank? I have a 29 gallon tank laying around that used to be my sump.

Sounds good. Sucks that I have to work though. I might have to come by on my way home.

It wont ve in until abt 3-4pm by the time I get home from airport in rush hour traffic it'll be abt 6-630. So well have to figure out if everyone can get there that night. I really don't want to have to set up a holding tank and be responsible. Just Incase.
