I haven’t been on in awhile. As many of you know, I homeschool. When Maddie was in the hospital, we got really behind. Therefore, in order to catch up and still have a summer, life became school, which is all we have been doing, that and babysitting Maddie.
Our fourth child graduated last week and Jeff and Susie finished their schooling for the year. Now, I can breathe for a little bit.
My tanks have really fallen apart. My fish only tank lost many fish. I am still not sure what happened. After I started losing fish, I tested the water and the nitrate level was off the chart. After 3 50% water changes, it still is at 100ppm. I have a deep sand bed in the tank, and one of the wrasses dug out a 10-inch hole right to the bottom. Not sure if this is what caused the nitrate spike but pretty sure this did it. I lost most of the fish in the tank, only left with my skunk clown, bird wrasse, and a marine betta. I lost a yellow tang, a ringtailed tang, a naso tang, an orange shouldered tang, a red coris wrasse, a velvet wrasse, a firefish, and a scribbled rabbitfish (sorry Bax). :'(
My reef tank, while I haven’t lost any fish, the pink tipped anemone problem that I have has come back with a vengeance. Very depressing. And I leave in about two weeks for a two week vacation. AAGGGHHH!!! Not sure what I will come back to.
Doug and Andy are in a shark tournament on Saturday, and I will be in Pa picking up our daughter from a birthday party, so I will not be able to make the meeting on Saturday.
Hopefully, life will settle back into some semblance of a routine and I will be on here more often.
We bred our Golden Retriever and hopefully in 6 weeks we will be having lots of little pattering feet around here. ;D
Thanks Bill for checking up on me, I appreciate it.
