Tank looks great, Wendy! Sorry to hear about the Red Bug problem, hopefully it all works out!

Wendy

Red Bugs are rampant in the hobby it seems.

The good news is, they are an easy pest to get rid of. Treat the whole tank. My fire shrimp survived with out a hitch. But remove your shrimp as a precaution if possible. I could not get mine. It will set your pods back a bit but they will repopulate.

Good luck!

Aaaw, thank you all so much. You make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :-[

As for the Red Bugs: I'm done with 2 treatments now, but will still do the third, even though I haven't seen a lick of evidence after the first treatment that there were any left. But I'm done playing games.....they gotta go.

I was actually unable to get any of my shrimp out, even though I tried trapping them in 3 different traps for a good week straight. It upset me greatly to throw in the Interceptor with my shrimp in there, because

1. I've had my skunk cleaner since I started with this hobby sometime in April 07
2. I have a PAIR of blood shrimp
3. Even though coral bandeds have a bad rep....mine's been with me for as long as the skunk cleaner, and hasn't shown a mean streak yet.

The good news: They all survived the first treatment.

The bad news: They were all still alive this morning, after the second treatment, but my skunk was acting really weird (disoriented and weak) as did one of my blood shrimp.

The BEST news: They are all doing better within hours of me doing the big water change and hooking up fresh carbon.

What made me especially happy: I was able to yank out my HUGE Sally Lightfoot finally. She, too, was affected by the second treatment. She's now in the quarantine tank, awaiting her new destiny. ;D

LOL. She's doing well, by the way, Mike. As feisty as ever. Come on and get her before I change my mind and have her for dinner. :p

Here are just a few pics under Blue Pluses only, taken 20 minutes ago.

Alright you can forget a name or two LOL heck i cant remeber any of them HEHEHE i just know they are purty

Sorry about the bug eye thing Wendy but the tank looks fantastic.

I would have chimed in sooner but work blocks a lot of the picture hosting sites and I didn't get to see your pics until now.

I think you Aussie thing is an Aussie Scolymia thing, and it's cool!

BTW, anyone who likes Aussie things like that should definitely stay away from Aquatic Obsessions for the next few weeks, until I get to go make my birthday buy! ;)

Wendy

When you've done your final treatment, dose some Iodine for the shrimp. I always dose Iodine after they molt too, seems to help em out quite a bit.

Thank you all so much again. :)

Well, the last treatment was made last Thursday, and I did an enormous water change Friday, and also added some Iodine. Guess what! ALL my shrimp made it through and continue to do well. I hope they don't mutate on me now. :-X

Today I ventured out and brought a new baby home. Gulp. BIG gulp!! It's an Australian Elegance Coral. I've done tons of research (as much as I could find), and hope I picked a healthy specimen. She opened fully within less than an hour of being in my system.

Here she is. Isn't she gorgeous? ;D

Wow that is a nice elegance Wendy. I'm shocked you went and did it after our chat. I guess you'll be getting that gonoipora too huh? ;)

As many times as i have been to Wendys her tank never stops to amaze me i'm in a trance when im there that piece i beautiful I wish i can get my tank to look like that

Make sure you give it plenty of room. I had one that was three inches pulled in but over 15" across when inflated. And they will sting you!

Nathan, I simply couldn't resist this one. It was all I ever hoped for, and then some. :) And no, I don't think I'll be trying the goni - at least not for a long while.

Thank you very much, Mike.

Greg, I basically emptied out the entire bottom right corner for her ;) She's got tons of room now, and has tons of room to grow, too. What happened to yours, Greg?
