Thanks. Greatly appreciate it. I prob can't make 8 fit in a 24" but will try the 6. Thx. 8)

My tank is 24", and I (well....Alex and I) made 8 of 'em fit. :) But depending on what you want to keep, 6 may be plenty. :)

Mike, I don't know what you read, but I'm not running 14 bulbs here, lol. "Just" 8, with a total of 640 Watts over the 180. I don't think that's all that bad. ;)

Wow, beautiful tank. It's really an inspiration to me being that I'm just getting started on my own upgrade of a 56 from a 10, haha.

She is an inspiration to most of us. Wendy think it is time for some spring rainy weather pick me up. How about some pics.

Thanks so much Robbie, kason & James. :)

I've had/have my fair share of issues with the tank. Don't think for a minute it's all smooth sailing all the time. One of the things I'm having a problem with currently is Cyano. It started showing its ugly face about 6 weeks ago. I suck out whatever I can, continue to do weekly water changes, blow it off when it accumulates, decreased feeding, and increased flow by adding a Koralia #4 to the back wall. I honestly don't think it's flow related, as the water is quite turbulent everywhere. Both Vortecs are turned up, too. It has been getting better, but I just can't wait for it to go away period - and not come back.

The strange thing about it is that it seems to clump up in the sandbed. First the sand turns red, and then it clumps. Really strange. ???

Here are pictures, as requested by James. Just took them this morning. Some are with blue lights only, others are with all the lights on.

My Aussie Elegance (the clowns have started hosting in it about 3 weeks ago - to my big dismay, I should add. I am aware that it's a bad idea to have an elegance hosted, but so far it has shown absolutely no ill effects by the clowns. The minute it does, the clowns will have to go.)

My Canary Fang Blenny. This guy has caused me quite some headaches since I've purchased him about 2 months ago. He's dived into the overflow, went down the drain and ended up in the filter sock 3 times. From there he's managed twice to jump out and end up in my refugium. Out of the 2 times I rescued him from the filter sock, he's bitten me each time - no ill effects other than an itchy spot. Knock on wood, he's been in the display now for the past 2 weeks straight. ::)

And lastly a partial picture.

Thank you both. :)

LOL @ "bad fish"

After taking the pictures and looking the tank over for a couple of hours, I did some re-arranging. :-[ You all know how it is.....suddenly you brain-storm and start moving things around, right?

Ok, so here's a NEW FTS. ::)

Looks fantastic Wendy. I too have 8 bulbs x 54 watts over my 24" deep tank. I really like the T5's. Seeing a lot of growth pretty quick.

Congrats Wendy on the Big one.... Don't sweat it... I have a 220 and its less intimidating than it looks as first..

P.S. Launching the Interceptor bomb tonight at midnight......

All the Best..

Wendy

Tank looks great!

Do you have a Hanna PO4 meter? I really think it's the best way to monitor PO4. And PO4 cuases cyano big time!

Thank you all again. :)

Aceswild: Yes, all with T5s only.

trigger99: Good luck with the "bomb". Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Bax, I had my water tested twice for phosphates with a funky, very expensive device (forgot the name of the thing :-[), and the highest it's been was 0.1. I'm also running a phosban reactor.

Wendy why you showing the pics of my tank? ::) ::) ::) LOL just kidding looking awesome

Wendy,as always fantastic looking tank!!! Im with ya on the blenny,I had one awhile ago,and it did the same thing to me(aside from the bites)I was worried about scooping him up out of the sump, hearing they were poisonous, last time I did that I gave him away.Ive gotten hit by lionfish in the past, thats something I wouldnt wanna do again. :-[ Love yr pics, continued success yr way...

Wendy, your tank is very beautiful, I wish I could do as well as you do!

I've started to get a lot of cyano since I started dosing vodka, but I don't know if there's a connection. The cyano seems to grow and fade, like it's nutrient deprived, which is a good thing. Big sheets peel off the substrate.

Wendy your tank is BEAUTIFUL. One question. Do you think the coral on the top right hand side will cause the corals underneath it to bleach/die from lack of light. The pieces underneath it are much to nice to loose. I think you might need a bigger tank. ;) Just Gorgeous.

Thanks a million, Mike, Tony, Dan, Jim & Richie. :)

Dan, I'm no writer. I'm just happy being able to communicate these days. ;)

Jim, are you saying I should give Vodka a try? ???

Richie, so far the rose milli hasn't suffered a bit. But then again, I hacked it way down not too long ago and it's only been in its new "position" for a little over 1 month. As soon as I see color loss or other signs of stress I'll be hacking into it. :)

Here's some closer pictures of the 2 millis.

Here's a picture of my new baby Maxima. I swear, the picture doesn't do it any justice. The nicest clam I've ever seen.

And here's my evil Maze Brain. I got this from Ralph shortly after I started in the hobby about 2 years ago. When I got it, it was less than 1/4" big. Well, now it's about 3" and has the longest stinging sweepers I have ever seen. I almost contemplated on selling it since its sting is quite potent and deadly (poor Favia next to it), but opted for placing it further away from everything and everyone. It's on probation right now. :)

No I didn't know if you were using it. In your tank, anyway. I though if you were using it, that might be a cause of your cyano issues. Just another data point.
