Spent the better evening building the stand for the ADA

came out very good. $55 at Ikea. haha

ignore the life sized santa to the left of the picture. lol

Judeo, are you sure the stand will hold the ~800 lbs. of tank and SW? I have never used IKEA furniture as an aquarium stand, but I have used it for other things. I had a piece once that I placed near a window, and it got wet a couple times, when I left the window open and it got wet from rain storms. It was made of a particle board covered with a melamine laminate, which, once wet began to swell, and crumble.

Hey Jim,

haha, trust me Ikea wasn't the first thing to pop in my head but, I think you're mistaking the ADA for the DeepBlue 80 Gallon Display i currently have running. You're definitely correct on when you said there is no way an ikea cabinet will hold all that weight!! haha

The ADA is only a 8 gallon tank which i will plumb a long side the 80 to use as a frag tank. Roughly less than 100lbs will be placed on top of the ikea cabinet. I also got the suggestion for the stand on several other ADA 60p builds and they have used them with success!

+1. One if the quietest pumps I have used. Would not have know it was running if I didn't see the water moving.

When I first turned it on, I got worried because I didn't hear or see any water movement. I'm not used to a gradual start pump. Lol

Lol. At first I was thinking to myself "I thought this thing would move more water" as it was coming up to speed. Once it was up to speed I had to slow it to the second setting. Should be able to turn it up when I put my skimmer and reactors online.

I have mine on the lowest setting and this thing moves water like no ones business. I will be plumbing a chilller, smaller frag tank, and some reactors to this so i expect to use a higher setting.

For the brief moment I did have the pump on the highest setting, my display was going nuts. lol

Can anyone tell me how to program some float switches with the Apex? I installed the breakout box, spliced some wires to the float switches, attached it to breakout box, and program outlet #8 with a basic switch command and nothing happens.

I've been trying to figure this out for the better part of the evening.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I feel really good about this tank and I am just taking it day to day and hopefully I can get some of the stuff I have back in full health and the colors looking amazing again.

with a heavy heart I must say that I will most likely be breaking this tank down.

as much as I love this tank and set up, their is a high probability that I will be moving within this year and most likely be sooner than later.
I will start a thread soon, most likely this weekend to start selling off my fish and then shortly afterwards a ton of equipment that i would like to sell to clear out before I move.

I won't completely be out as I plan to keep a smaller tank going to keep some of my favorite corals. I just don't want the hassle of moving a large tank when the day comes.

although the tank is young and was short lived, it was an awesome journey haha.
