I doubt that Paul,

Ozzy said it best,
"Politicians hide themselves away,
they only started the war,
why should they go out to fight,
they leave that role to the poor...."

I know Sabbath meant real war but, what do they (politicians)care about the little man he doesn't mean anything anymore.
Even if they stop there pay they are generally all rich spending millions on campaigns for a job that pays $100,000 a year yea! That's what I would do.....

I would like to propose this as an amendment to the Constitution:

"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States."

Thanks everyone. I have to figure out a way to frag both of those they are getting a little to close to the monti's. Gonna mess around this weekend.

Well the swtch is on. After saying for quite some time now that I would NEVER switch to LED's, I'm switching to LED's. Here is what I went with.

Its getting nice reviews on R2R and RC both. The biggest dilemma I faced was how to mount them. My original plan was to build a hanging canopy. That got nixed when my wife said nothing hangs from the ceiling. I'm not a big fan of canopies on tanks, I like the open top look so that was out too. so that got me thinking, My first though was to gut my Tek fixture and drill a few holes in the casing to allow for the fans and dimming controls. But I figured why ruin the fixture. Then I though I would make a box that would be essentially the same size as the tek light and also utilize the tank mounts legs that I use already. So here is the beginnings of the fixture.

Another coming change will be the removal of the Bio-Pellets. In it's place I will put a 10 gallon tank to add a bit of volume to the system and to facilitate WC's without having to shut it down. At the moment the refugium section of my sump is housing some LR that I've held on to for one reason or another. To make room for Macro that LR will also end up in the WC tank as well. Its all drilled and just waiting for the rest of the plumbing. Hoping to get that going this weekend. Thats it for now stay tuned for the LEDs

Well the LED fixture solution is almost complete. Box is solid oak to match the stand.

The tank mounts from my Tek light were bolted to it. That will allow me to be able to raise and lower the fixture from about 11" off water to about 5" off water. Though I don't anticipate going that low.

Inside I put rails that the fixture will sit on.

All in all I think it came out pretty good.
Cost minus the legs which I had was around $50. Now need to do some hole filling, a bit of sanding, then I'll finish it up.

Thank guys.

Jim,
I gotta agree. Hind site I probably could have gone with 1/2" stock but then the tank mounts would have not been as secure. If I was gonna hang this. 1/2" all the way.

Here you go LEDs in and going. Starting out really low. It's weird cause even at its highest setting they seem dimmer then the T'5s. We shall see how things go. But the Tek light is sticking around for a while just in case.

They will be dimmer to the eye. do not let that deceive you, they are much more powerful. The lumens, or visible light, is a lot lower than fluorescent, and wattage is much less, but the PAR and PUR is higher as well as the penetrating power of the LEDs vs the T5's. That is why most people burn the crap out of their corals when switching from mh/t5 etc to LED, because they go by what they see, not by what the light is now putting out.

Start out at low percentages, and work your way up gradually.

Yeah I read that too. Still weird though. I'm starting at about 30% blues and 15% whites/colors. Gonna be hard to look at for a while. I like blue but this is crazy.
