Let’s build a tank

I’ll try that because the heat gun and alcohol didn’t work

Well I’ve gotten as far as I can go for a while today I tinted the three sides of the sump and as I already posted I did the baffles last night but I do not have any aquarium silicone to install them as of yet plus I have to get a whole plumbing system going that’s gonna take a while Because I am not fishing at this time and all of a sudden I have to watch what I spend I’ve never been on a budget before I am totally not used to this I’m the kind of guy that just gets what he wants and not being able to do so because of this epidemic is really inconvenient

I’m sorry the heat or alcohol didn’t work. That was the least harsh method I could think of. If acetone didn’t work, Other than that, mineral spirits should break it down enough to remove it, but you might have to go over it a few times.

All areas that have (ugly stain) are gonna get tinted like I did to sump,, plan on doing the back and both sides
Will serve 2 jobs-one hide the ugly,,,2 block sunbeams, because the setup will be between two windows that are 6fr tall and 2ft wide

Make sure you get 100% silicone and read the label (some even say they're OK (or not) for aquarium use).
You don't want the ones with additives that have color added, retard mold, or allow you to paint over them.
Theres a basic GE 10.1oz tube (reddish orange label) thats about $7 at t big box store, and I always have a tube of the Loctite deetu recommends which you can get on Amazon for $4

please quit :love_heart:. You need to be around for the kids and you will feel better after the withdrawal. Try to be nice and apologize when mad. Nicadurm (sp?) patches from what I understand make it much easier on symptoms

So today I started the process of plugging up the drilled holes at the bottom of my tank I had a piece of glass left over from baffles I had made when I made the sump for my other tank I cut one baffle in half and silicone the hell out of it and put it underneath I also used gorilla glue Ducktape to tape it on nice n tight. Then on the inside when I put the other piece down with a bunch of silicone I also taped that down tight put a large book on top of it and all the thick heavier baffles that I have for my new sump to put pressure on it so it seals nice and tight. I still need to silicone around the edges of both pieces of glass nice and thick like but ran out of the silicone that I had (was bout quarter of tube left over from last build)

A little side note
My wife realized how nice I can make things look and pointed out that now our 18yr old bedroom furniture looks fugly compared to tank stand and canopy,, she said she was “wondering” if I could do the night tables and top of dresser the same as the tank setup. Which All married men know that really means “ now do the rest to match or I’m not happy” So I said
Yes Dear
