Yeah it has you as a small colony not a member. Shoot us an email if you have more problems.

I got my membership back and I can post again :)

So this weekend, I started on my light box. I just dry fitted it, I still need to figure out the hinges to use and where exactly to cut out the hole for the outlet and the wire down to the tank. This box will hold the controller and the power packs.

Inside will be a rail and knobs which are used in woodworking tables. I'll use this to hold up the light and this will allow me to position it and if needed add a 3rd light fixture in the future if needed.

I'm using this self stick edging which has worked great, much faster then the iron on type.

Looking good mike! hope the clown is still alive and kicking!

The clown is doing very well. He's lonely as I had to take the anemone out of the tank as it was stinging and killing all my coral.

In case any one is interest this will be a view the fish will have of the new kitchen. And yes I did go LEDs for the lighting in kitchen, hahahaha this was a no brainer. Still a lot of work to be done.

My kids keep saying we should have made the island a tank!! They thought it would be pretty cool to have a seat at the tank for dinner.

I love the seat at the tank idea. The kitchen and the build look awesome.

So now I have some space in the living room back (all our cabinets were store for 2 months there), I took the liberty to ask one of the contractors to help me move the tank close to it's final resting spot.

This was a lot heavier then I though it would be. Directly under the tank is a triple joist, so the structure engineer said no additional support is needed. I might just throw one in for piece of mind.

I have a new service panel for the house being put in on Saturday, so after that the basement should be clear for me to start some of the plumbing to around the sump. If I'm lucky this will be getting wet by the end of January. But I'm going to layout the plumbing carefully with the goal of having a very neat and organized run to the basement. So I'm not going to rush it.

pics didn't come thru...

clown doesn't need a nem. My pair were laying eggs like mad back in the day with no anemone anywhere.

Opps, in efforts to organize my photo's I messed up the links. Here are the photos

Tank in the living room

I had a few hours to work on the skin:

I'm using these crazy strong magnets to hold it to the stand:

These magnets are so strong, I have to use a plastic pryer to separate them. I got some skin bought between 2 while trying to get them apart and that wasn't pretty.

I'm looking for to seeing how this works out. I've been thinking about doing the exact same thing with my stand for about year. Procrastination and other projects keep getting in the way lol.

Well finally some progress. The tank went into it's final spot and I did a quick leveling to see how the floors were.

I had a structural engineer visit the house for other things, so I double checked with him about the support. He said what I have was fine, but if I wanted a piece of mind that the floor wouldn't sag to sister a steel plate across the joists. With the contractor at my house everyday, this was a quick project for him. I'm still waiting for my basement to be returned to me to start the sump.

Progress has been made on the light box and the magnetic panels, I primed some of them today.

Gorgeous looking tank. Were's the sump ?

Sump?? Doh.....

j/k the sump will go in the basement. I have to wait for some more work to get completed. Turns out that the new island we put in is causing some defection in the existing floor. Nothing structure but is causing the floor to become uneven. So the contractor is putting some additional bracing to ensure it doesn't get worse. The joys of homeownership.

Here is my equipment list so far:

Tank : Custom Coast to Coast Euro braced peninsula Starphire glass on 3 sides

Sump : Elite Aquatics, which I'll be running a Herbie system (I wasn't convinced that I needed to go to Bean Animal) with a Iwaki pump and have a denitrification system to go with it.

Skimmer: is a Life Reef 30" / Panworld pump

CaRx : Geo w/ Aquarium Plants regulator

Flow : Tunze, converting from vortech's as I always found them noisy, will have to find a good way to deal with the wires

Lights : Kessil 360We w/Kessil controller so I don't have to have a wire running down (I had an electrical plug put in the ceiling)

UV : 40 W Emperior Aquatics (this thing is HUGE)

Rocks : real reef rock

Controller : Apex

Auto Water Changer : Litermeter pumps

Plumbing : more sched 80 pieces and parts I care to ever buy again.

I'll be setting up a QT for Coral and fish, nothing will go into the DT w/o a QT.

Looking great. The craftmanship on the ctc tanks is awesome. I almost pulled the trigger on one when I was doing my upgrade but decided that this upgrade wasn't my dream build. That one gonna happen when we add on to the house also

Very nice list, let me know if you might need any help Michael.
