My Oceanic Tech 120

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.

Hey Phil it was great meeting you, Jim, Baxter, Rob, and all the rest of the folks. Thanks for all putting in so much time to make the event as great as it was. I will post some pics tomorrow.

As a side note after seeing all the corals out there and getting so many great frags I decided to do a small re-rockscaping.
Basically I had 3 large GSP rocks that I moved to the back of the tank as sort of a mini third hill. I didn't want to have them over everything as they are growing crazy, second to my cheato.

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.

It was great meeting up with you and phil and your future little reefer :D

Watch that GSP for sure, it can really get out of control. GSP iis the devil's marine form!!!!!!!!

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.

Thanks Baxter...by the end he ran us both into the ground.

So let me say my wife is a lot luckier at the raffles then me. SO while I liked LPS I found out she like all JRod and Pnoy stuff...here are a couple she won.

Funny I had no caps at all before the swap and thanks to Steve, Baxter, Richie and the raffle I have 4.

Here is my wife's clam.

Moved some corals around here is a pic of my hairy mushrooms.

Also I managed to get some filter socks from AO...made a big help with my bubble situation in the sump.
Here are some new few shots.

I like the side shot you can see how I moved the GSP to the back...I might try to "hide" the MJ900 behind the GSP rocks.

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.

lol...another futurama fan eh?

@jr - those are some really nice looking frags. That cap is HUGE.

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.

That is a Pnoy "frag" or minicolony as he called it.

My wife really wanted to get the clam and you guys take it all wrong. :p

Thanks Phil, I realized that almost every coral I have is aquacultured, most in NJ.

Just want to say thanks again to everyone who either traded, donated, or fragged something for me.

The LHS shot has a bunch of LPS from Darren, huge hammer and frogspawn, plus some zoas. Honestly I have to figure out how to take better pictures because these don't do it them justice. Super nice guy.

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.

It's a nice clam........

what kind of rock did you use in your tank? did you use some of that branching rock?

James, it was great meeting you finally and being able to put a face to a name. ;D

Your tank is really coming along.

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.

Thanks Erna same for me I met so many people my head was swimming at the end.

The breakdown of the rock was 120 lbs from dflint when he got out I bought from him. Was mixed bunch some small branching pieces, more solid rock, and some nice more open rock.
I used few pieces of base rock from trop...the sort of flat pieces used mostly for structure.
Some tonga branches also from trop couple other regular LR
Nice piece from Red Sea that he hand picked for me.

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.

Thanks Bax, hope next summer. Sometimes it is amazing how fast the time flys by.

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.

Things are going pretty well. No major updates unless you want to see algae in my QT tank.

I will give one good pic that I took though.

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.

I have some growth already....it moves around more then I thought it would though.

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.

I will post some pics later this week, lights will be out by the time I get home tonight.
News though is my three fish got moved out of QT after 2 months. Hippo and Naso tangs are doing great. Starry blenny has just disappeared

. I promise to get some pics later, I wanted to get the new fish in the pictures.

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.

Very nice clam ... tank comin along pretty sweet and thanks that you like the frag :D

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.

Thanks Steve...was a a super frag, same as some of the pieces we won at the swap.

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.

OK here are some pics as promised.
Sorta tang-centric.

While tangs come with a warning ...don't put them together ect...well mine are like buddies.

My Starry Blenny which I thought I had lost darted out from my rocks a few times for food.
But it was a black streak no chance for a photo.  So very happy that I saw him.
I am really very happy with the health of all the fish.  After two months of going in and out of the crawl space, tons of water changes, salinity changes, and general paranoia I get to enjoy them finally.
I am going to pat myself on the back for doing it the right way with QT and all that jazz...it was worth the effort.
Couple other pics.
I think I have to pay royalties(Yengling work?) for this one.

And a couple ugly skimmate pictures.

This is the first week with real size fish and fish waste. Much uglier then before.
