NCPARS / That Fish Place, Lancaster, PA, Sat Jan 30th 2010

Was wondering if anyone was going...

237 Centerville Rd, Lancaster, PA 17603

$10 admission fee for the frag event. Though you certainly do not have to go to the event if you just want to check out the store.

NJRC had a table there last year to promote macna. But obviously we won't be there this year for any official capacity. Anyone want to just go to shop? ;)

How was it last year? I'm already talking to my wife about it and she's on board. Though that 3 hour ride is a killer.

If you're going for the speakers I wouldn't bother. The speaking area was terrible. They were in the middle of the frag hall and you couldn't hear a word they said. There were a good amount of vendors there last year though. So if you're going for the frags and vendors it would be worth it for you.

hmmmmm....... Really wanted to hear the speakers. We decided to take the ride. I guess I will try to sit/stand in the front row.

Ric Its three hours but, its also for cats dog and every other animal.

Also its in lancaster so theres always shopping for the some ladies if they choose.

I can't comment on the event being planned, but that store itself ROCKS!

I stopped in there when I bought my tank/stand right around the corner from them. The previous owner recommended it and man was I glad I did. Unfortunately, I was not in any position to buy any corals because I didn't have a tank setup yet to put them in. I didn't want to chance buying anything before I knew my system was ready for it. They did have a great variety of beautiful corals to buy though. I think I was most impressed by some of the large rocks that were "samplers" with a variety of frags on them. Some had a bunch of different mushrooms, some were mixed zoas, etc. They were great lil starter packs and if they weren't so far from home I may have gone back there to stock my tank. I was amazed at all the fantastic corals they had in general though.

Anyway, I will try to make this event. Sounds like a second chance for those of us who couldn't make MACNA (although I'm sure it won't quite compare.)

Hope to see some of you there.

***EDIT*** Well, Phyl already commented on my post, so I will just edit it instead of deleting it altogether, lol. I feel like such a dork, but the place I was referring to was "Something Fishy" and not "That Fish Place". Please disregard all of my comments about this store as I have never been there. :-[

I still am considering going though, even if it means I have to sneak away and head over to "Something Fishy"

LOL. Not even CLOSE! There's nothing in the world like a MACNA. Anyone who CAN get to Orlando this year SHOULD. That show should ROCK!

Yes - but at least at NCPARS you don't have to deal with figuring out how to take my livestock home from the event.

I am pondering how difficult that will be in orlando.

Was wondering the same thing, the only thing I could think of was to stay until Monday and UPS everything overnight to yourself and fly home monday afternoon. I was thinking that I would just not buy anything down there, but we all know that is not going to happen.
