$869.99 wow

That’s too much.
That’s kessil/ ecotech prices.
They had a chance to provided a cheaper light.
The industry doesn’t need another 1,000 light. Lol

I don’t think they have released the price point yet.

Same radions. Very interesting. Figured they would try to get some market penetration at a lower price point. But with map I guess not

my only concern is that if your apex goes down all systems out gone. It’s too more interdependence. I would almost make sure I have separate lifelines for flow lights and filtration.

Damn and I thought it would be priced right since they released their fuge light which is a decent price. Not sure if I would pay 869.00

I think it’s a stand alone light. I am sure it will have its own power supply and if you eb832 dies you can still run them.
They are still running aquabus cable to this light. That’s a huge fail.

So the price is
$869 per light. They are crazy I will stick with kessil.

Light looks pretty and being able to swap the orange Neptune tag was hilarious (wife was outraged because she loves the orange accents lol) but I was assuming they would price it comparable to an xr30 which they sadly did.
Going to be interesting to see how much the par map backs up this dramatic release video later over that recommended 24x30 spread.

The price point is a major fail.
Using a aquabus cable to communicate with lights is a deal breaker for me.

Not having your own mounting arm is really bad.

Neptune Systems is overpriced, but they have the market... People will pay for it.

They have the controller market I agree. But they know nothing about lighting. It’s not a smart move to compete
With companies like kessil that make their own light
And have been in the lighting industry for years.
Philips created the led and has been a strong international led company. Making leds for tv/cars.
Even competing with ecotech that’s consider the reefing industry leader of leds.
I think you really need to be a Neptune fan boy to buy these lights at that price.

Im tempted to side with @amado in saying Neptune doesn't know about lighting but at the same time it's hard to judge how good this light will actually be without some numbers. If the performance of it is better than that gen 5 xr30, anyone who was already looking to buy those is tempted to switch over. Especially for the Neptune fanboy haha. The controllability with the apex seems unnecessary since lighting is not something that one plays around with too often. If you have extra aquabus cable spots open then sure, otherwise using it as a stand alone light with their app while plugged into an apex would probably be a thing as well.

I do agree entirely on the failure of Neptune to see the giant opening in the market for a lower priced light. But for a company that failed to keep that Apex Jr. in production this is not unexpected.

I agree with you 100%. Not having a low cost solution was a horrible idea.
If neptune apex had a entry $299 apex jr the sales and market share would be higher.
Apple makes a high end iPhone but they also make a cheap version of the iPhone for people that don’t need all the bells and whistles. I watched melevsreef install the lights over his tank. I didn’t like how flat the lights look. They had zero shimmer.I Like kessil because of the shimmer for me that looks natural. I think they should have priced the light lower spending 3k on 3 lights is not cool.

This is the video
