New tank! (40 breeder)

That is a lot of rock in there, but it looks good. Plenty of room for mounting corals to the rock.

Lol, I've found that the fancier the zoa, the slower it grows. My Eagle Eyes, and Dragon Eyes, spread like weeds. My Bambams, Lunars, Purple Death Palys, for example, all grow SLOW lol. Tank looks awesome by the way. You said you picked those snowflakes up at ACC? If so, what did they charge you for em? (If you don't mind me asking :p)

Nice tank build! Reminds me of when I did my 90g. Had everything documented just like you do Lol. Where at in SJ r u? I see you go to Aquarium Center so you must be close to me Lol I'm in Blackwood

Thank you! And Yes, I live in Cherry Hill!

Yes one one inch drain and one one inch return, running a mag 9.5 wich will be teed off into the refugium to reduce pressure.

Ran the same size drains on my 75 when we drilled that, and two were more than capable of handling a mag 18, so 800gph roughly can go through this drain.

20x turnover rate for a 40 breeder, should be enough I believe

Tank is almost full, just got the tracking for the leds I ordered, should be here monday.

Going to modify the tek 6 bulb t5 into a 3x3 or 4x2 led/t5 hybrid. Not sure what ratio I want to go with, but I'm thinking 4 rows of leds to 2 t5 bulbs. Ill see what is what when the supplies get here...

Anyone in the club running a t5 led hybrid fixture or both on their tanks that can chime in on a ratio? I don't want the t5s to overpower the leds too much in terms of visuals, but I know its tricky since leds put out so much less visible light... going to have to experiment to find a balance of the two I guess.

Yay! My tank is pretty much full! So excited with the progress. Like my boy said the LEDs come tomorrow, can't wait for my fishes, can't wait for my corals. The tank is literally perfect height to see from my bed. I'm so happy :)uploadfromtaptalk1378653796644.jpg

First night with the tank on and cycling! The filtration is perfect thanks to my wonderful boyfriend, this is my first tank/ sump combo so all this is new to me. This process is honestly amazing and I'm grateful to have him to learn from, he made a few minor adjustments today to keep me happy because the sound was a little louder then I liked. However, now the sound is soothing! We are debating about building a canopy as well for on top to add to to the appearance to the tank. It is the first thing you see when you open my door! I will continue to keep you guys posted! Thanks for all the compliments on the rock work. Couldn't have done it without xav and bry!
