Oh no he didn't, oh yes he did 180 gal build

So the moorish idol I foolishly did not quarantine and lost almost all my fish.

The only fish that remained were:
Yellow-Flanked Fairy Wrasse (Yellow Patch Wrasse)
Orange-Back Fairy Wrasse
Melnarus Wrasse

My 180 Gallon Saltwater tank as of 3/21/14:

I am battling a nasty hair algae after neglecting my tank for awhile, it was a lot worse last week and I am slowly correcting it.

Also I replaced my MP40 with the Jebao WP60 and I am very happy with the change. The MP40 alone was not enough power for my tank, but this WP60 is amazing!

I am going to order a CUC from Reeftopia once it warms up and then I plan on adding some fish slowly. I think either a trio of anithas or a hippo tang to start :x.

Thanks for looking!

Paul the lil fella just got done acclimating and now is lost in my 180 gallon somewhere. I think he is mad that I watched him for a good 20 minutes at AF making sure it was active/picking at pods.

I will post a video/pic once it gets settled and embraces the doughbran.

Also I am upset w/ petco, their $1 per gallon sale starts on Sunday. I was there today picking up some filter pads and asked if I could get a tank today the lovely associate said no you have to come back Sunday. Now I don't mind having to go back Sunday, but logic dictates why not just sell me the f-ing thing today.

I'll be going Sunday to pick up a 55g to setup as a QT for my anthias then tangs. Still debating which bunch I want to add first.

I'm also going to have to bust out my hand dandy drill to build a stand for the 55 <sad face>

I built a stand using rocket engineer's template from reef central for a 55g long. Going to pick one up tomorrow from petco, the lady said 55s are included yesterday while I was there, but she wouldn't sell me it at the discount :X.

I am also going to be starting a dose of Fauna Marine Algea X to help battle my hair algae.

Anyone have any recommendations for a CUC, my Melnarus wrasse seems to have a taste for hermits.

So I bought a 55 gallon tank from petco's $1 per gallon sale, going to use this as a QT. I built the stand for it last night which was fun.

Plan is next weekend to pickup 2/3 fish and begin the QT process. These will be the first fish I'm adding besides the mandarin in almost a year :x. I'm super excited!

I currently have a 3" yellow tang, 2" hippo tang, and 4-5" naso tang in my QT.

I also picked up a 40 breeder from petco today, I plan on drilling it and plumbing it into my display to make a fuge.

Looking for someone to drill a hole in a 40 breeder for me. I have a glassholes overflow kit that uses a OD 2 1/2" bulkhead. I bought it from a tank awhile ago, but do not have the bit to go with it.

So between yesterday & today I started work on my soon to be 40g breeder fuge.

Thanks to Anthony (thiry5, YOU MY BOY BLUE) the 40 breeder is drilled with a glass-holes overflow & a 1/2" return.

I built the stand today and was able to get my mixing barrels moved to a different part of the basement.

Basically the plan is to build a manifold from my return that will feed the fuge, display, reactors, and connect it to the drain you see with the barb hanging.

The fuge will be packed full of rock & macro algae.

The fuge will then drain into the sump in the DT's return area.

Enjoy the pics and more to come :)

Got the stand for the fuge sprayed with some polyuretheane and leveled it, placed tank on top and filled with my old dry rock.

Once my RO maker finishes making more water I'm going to add it to the tank and then throw a heater and powerhead in there to start the cycle. I figure I'll let the rock cycle separately before tieing it into my sump pictured below.

I plan on buying a different pump and going to use that to run a manifold, which will feed into the fuge & then have the fuge drain into the return section of my sump.

I have a 20g long sitting underneath the fuge that acts as my ATO tank.

Looking good Brandon. Sure makes washing the filter socks pretty easy.

You've also turned into quite the DIY'er, building those stands, and the plumbing, and the drilling of glass.....great job.

Brand new washer too :p

I can't take credit for the plumbing/drilling of the tank, my friend Anthony did that. I was just the side kick and provided the food:).

Next weekend I plan on buying a piece of plywood and moving the apex outlets up then buying a wire channel to run them nicely.

Currently I have my 3 wrasses, 3 tangs, and a mandarin in my display. I ended up treating the whole display with crypto-pro as I lost my 2 clowns to what I believe is ich.

looks like im battling a case of marine velvet in my display as I lost pretty much all my fish.

Only remaining as of today are my yellow tang and melanrus wrasse.

Marine velvet dies immediately in hydrogen peroxide it does not live if you can grab the fish you can save them in the right dip !

I have them in a copper treatment now, it seems to be helping.

How long do I need to leave my display fallow for? This sucks.
