Wow did not know that, fish seems very doscil and doesn’t do much but hang in one spot and hasn’t bothered ponies at all,, but still early and will keep eye on him, any problem and away fish goes

I think the biggest issue here is the Hawk getting all the food. I have one of these in my reef and it's a pig when it comes to eating. It has chased a few fish away but no real harm inflicted on the other fish.

It is nice and only gets 2 -3 inch max. There was another with black stripes instead of red; not sure of the difference but liked this one better.

This what a Hector goby looks like. I could not get a pic of mine so borrowed from web.
I had one of those in my 20 gallon. It was sold as a court jester. Loved the thing but Royal Gramma bullied it, had a big bite mark on it's side... it stayed away from him but died :frown:

How are you dealing with the water temperature differences between the tropical Hector and the northern pony?

Oops went little heavy on the gasoline
It was more like one for me and one for my homies the way you poured out that gas hahah. But all worth it. and it was truely nice of you to actually circle back and clean up the plastic and the contaminants in the water from the fuel. Most people would have just left it.

I got my first frags today ,, a purple gorgonian and a green sinulara hoping they grow big
They came from a good source. A few generations down the line since they were ocean bound. So I think theyll adapt and do fine. Expecially since your temp is in the 70s now. When I tested everything today, I ran the reef gambit,
Salinitly 1.023(working on raising it to .025)
Nitrates 2ppm on red sea pro
Phosphates 0.15ppm on milwakee chronometer (just like hanna)
Calcium was 430 with hanna
Alk is 7.4 (which I feel is fine bc .most of his water came from the Atlantic which runs 7.0 dkh when I tested a batch he brought back.)
Magnesium is 1370
Ph was on the money at 8.4
Amonia and nitrite are zero.

We ran few cycles of my oldschool vertex diatom Damascus powder filter to try to remove any particulates that were clouding the water. It would help but as soon as the filter was turned off it would get worse again in about a day. This told me it wasnt algae or free floating diatoms... most likely a bacterial bloom, I had paulie add more oxygenation to the system to ensure the bacteria wont deplete the o2 levels and hurt the inhabitants. we set up a UV sterilizer on its own separate loop within the sump, within 24 hours it made huge improvement. And the last 2 days has gotten even better. So a few more days and this guy has a sparkling clean FULLY CYCLED tank in just about 2weeks. I really thi k between the combo of the wet live rock he recieved that was being maintained, and the 50 gallons of fresh
Ocean water really made this happen so fast. Today I gave him 2 starter frags, one purple photosynthetic gorgonian I cut from my tank and a nice green sinulara also from my tank.. let's see how they grow, bc I have more gorgs and some gsp to get some life in there. Once established a but a few orderes of some dragons breath and some other colorful macros all that plastics can come out and your gonna be moving up to the big boy table. Hahah.

Im jusy glad you stuck through it and now its paying off.

Cheers brother.

That's what friends are for brother. Soon the student will go on to be the teacher. But for now, wax on wax off!

Also figured you would have never remembered the values of the tests. Other than that I said your good lol. And people hate when you say everything tests good. Haha

Thought my name was tinker lol.

Damn busy today went to Morortrendz house he gave me 3 more frags, a zoa, mushrooms with beautiful colors,, and Superman krypto a beautiful green color. Then met Madreefer at Petco to hook him up with a female seahorse, while there’s picked up 2 more cardinal fish and a sail fin tang. My tank is coming to life but find myself feeding more often

You got a kryptonite mushroom, and an iron man mushroom, some gsp, and a couple heads of zoas. Not sure what the name of them are but they're nice colorful morphs for sure. And you said you were ok with all that pink gravel and plastic plants.... what happened??!?
