So who uses what salt brand

I have been using Tropic Marin Pro but my corals haven't been looking good lately. I've heard that they are having quality problems. It's something about their parameters not being consistent. That's all hearsay, though.

At any rate, I'm switching over to SeaChem Reef salt. I've heard good things about it but haven't started using it yet. I have two buckets and plan to start on my next water change.

I was using Red Sea Coral Pro. I have a small bag of Oceanic that I was trying, but I don't see anything spectacular about it. I'm thinking of the SeaChem Reef salt as well.

Tropic Marin Pro, the bucket is running low so I might switch. I have had no problem with the salt but might try their reef actif or brightwell. Love all of brightwells products, so don't see how their salt could dissapoint.

I use Oceanic. Been using it for a few years with no issues so have no reason to change. Mind you, I only keep soft corals.

Anyone using the gettanked salt he is a sponsor ??
If its mixing up brown you have some water issues...When I mix its barely cloudy and its clear within 1/2 hour.

also do you have to let the freshly salt water sit for awhile so everything minxes properly? i mix my salt in buckets and the salt is all dissolved- no free floating salt or any landing on the bottom. How long do you think i should let it sit. Like i said my new reef crystals is at 12.8. and my tank i was told to keep at 9- but my corals dont grow fast so im thinking of changing the parameters to a lower alk. But for the time being until im finished with this salt, or anyone wants to buy it off me, what can i do with my calcium reactor to make a water change less harsh or something?

Yeah you should let your salt sit for min of 24hrs with a mix pump in it. Also you should mix your salt before you add it to the ro water so all the elements evenly distribute. Other you might have inconsistent batches.

I have this problem with d-d. Always a brown film left over in the mixin can along with lots of residue. D-D said that some of the buckets will do this but it's not harmful to any corals. Thinkin of goin back to tropic pro, always mixed nice and was super clean

When it was introduced, people on RC took exception to their analysis. The Brightwell claim is that it perfectly matches saltwater. People on RC said it is impossible to test to the level of precision that the claim made, and the apparently bogus claim disappointed a number of Brightwell fans.
