SPS turning white ,, don't know why?

Have you had any temp. swings more than a few degrees?

No my temps been at 78.8 degrees for many months , chiller ran all summer and I just disconnect it last weekend and it's still at same temp give or tank a half of a degree....

What kind of pest? @Sunny I check corals and tank don't see anything.. Flat worms or anything

Yes AEFWs. Dip the coral in a white container in revive or Coral RX as per instructions. See if anything falls off.

I did that this morning and saw nothing just a bristle worm that was inside the rock otherwise nothing else @Sunny

Can you cut that piece out to save the rest? Maybe it's only that section being affected

What fish do you have? Any dwarf angels? Do you see anyone nipping at SPS?

If it's RTN you may be able to save it by clipping it

No nipping,@Sunny I have a leopard wrasse ,2 clowns ,Bangai cardinal ,cleaner wrasse , yellow tangs green cronies and a few others that have been in tank for years

I hope it's not RTN, I WORK SO HARD ON KEEPING UP WITH TANK MAINTENANCE. never neglect, always change water every 2 Weeks, clean skimmer 2 times a week change filter socks as often as needed just don't get it why this is happening with all levels on point..@trio91

Do you use carbon? Any change in light intensity? Long shot but check all magnets for rust. Have a multimeter, check for stray voltage.

No I stopped using carbon 6-8 months ago @saltkreep88 ,, and I will check magnets now then for stray voltage, no light change, thanks

I would put a little carbon in just in case a cleaner or something got in there. Only takes a little febreeze or similar to hurt a tank.

Also the alk checkers had bad reagent packs that crashed many tanks... Raffleking had one reading 7 when I confirmed it was really 12 or 13...

I know they sent me new reagents after I read a post on M.R. Forum posted about contaminated ones,, so I contacted them and gave them lot numbers but I also check with salfert test kit and was the same @saltkreep88

I honestly don't know. Frag it into pieces to see if your can save it. It may help reveal the actual problem

Cut that white piece out 1st and inspect it the best you can. Its dead already so you cant really do harm at this point. What i would do, just to be safe would be to frag some live pieces that r around the white. Just to prevent whatever it from spreading.

Picture? Maybe its from something else that may have migrated. But I don't know
