Sunny I have 2 ideas
1st cut the handle off a small or large fish net place on the bottom of the tank cover with sand tie fishing string to the corners when he walks on top pull up
2nd when I need to catch a fish I us the 2 liter bottle approach and it works every time why don't you use that on a smaller scale like a water bottle inject some food and wait for him to walk in he will eventually then he's trapped

If you know what hole it lives in you can use a bamboo skewer to impale it. It works and is very satisfying in a sick sort of way.
